The Project Nursing Faculty of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia was planned for over 20 years. In 1995 the architect Rogelio Salmona developed a preliminary project. In 2003 a competition for a design was made and in 2008 under the policy of the Regularization and Management Plan (PRM) of the university the project was reborn and finally in 2013 the construction started.
Los Nogales School’s Chapel, is conceived based on human life’s dualities. A pure and elemental prism represents the pureness, the essential and the harmony. The various volumes and cracks that this prism suffers represent the spiritual sense in human lives, therefore harmony’s alterations. The prism order is juxtaposed with these alterations that generate light cracks on the elevations, allusion to hope and opportunity in a life of darkness. The dimness take place, as a place for quietness and prayer; the search for the interior self. Dualism also happens when the chapel opens itself to gather a major number of assistants; the lineal traditional axis of the interior becomes the transverse one, altar changes to chorus, and Christian traditional symbolism suffer a metamorphosis just by opening two huge doors facing a wide public space. This changes the chapel dramatically, from one that can gather 100 assistants to another capable for almost 2000, distorting the scale of the building itself, and making invisible the edge between interior and exterior. In fact the site’s composition is the result of a detailed study, composed by the chapel’s prism and the loose belfry element, which works as a symbolic landmark. The ochre concrete and the natural wood reflect brightness and nobility, mixed with texture and grain, surround by the tranquility of the subtle water pond and the trees.
Under the idea of making an expressive and seismically efficient structure, the pavilion is designed with a single type V column which gradually rotates and reverses, generating an apparently random sequence. As a result, the building simulates movement creating static movement architecture. As well, the resulting shape is very efficient to resist seismic forces.
Starting from the special understanding of Malaguzzi Loris pedagogical philosophy, was born the idea of creating an element that suggests 3 interrelated centralities, and which cause a range of situations and experiences among children, teachers and family.
At the edge of Bogota’s historic downtown, where the summit of the mountains of Monserrate and Guadalupe collide, at the edge of the pedestrian promenade of the Jimenez Ave. and in front the Periodistas Square, The Bicentennial Tower rises.
RSHP unveils plans for mixed-use development in central Bogotá
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) has unveiled plans for ATRIO, a major mixed-use commercial development in central Bogotá comprising two towers connected by a large, open public space at ground level.
The building for the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador in Colombia aims to provide architecture through an image capable of expressing new diplomatic relations between the two countries; The project comes at a time of changing political tide sponsored by the new Colombian government.

The Project is developed in the new G zone of Bogota, Colombia. The program is divided in two, the second floor zone were we can find the bar and the VIP area has a direct relation with the street thought the stairs. This area is an open environment limited by a bottle rack suspended from the ceiling. In the first floor there is located the kitchen and the dining room that opens to the inner patio and is limited by a red glass panels, it seems to be bigger for the reflection produced in it.
The project looks forward to strengthen the relationship between the street and the pedestrians. That is why a big over dimensioned entrance is built in a monumental way. We used lumber as the Inca stone contrasted with red colored glass. The fixed furniture is integrated to the walls related to textured and strong colored chairs and tables.
Located in one of the busiest streets of the city of Bogotá, The Fabulous is a high end Bar / Restaurant with capacity for about 500 people. The space that is enveloped by a wood timbertissue is designed as an acoustic element for the place.
1- THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CITY AND ITS IMMEDIATE BORDERS
More than an isolated school, the aim is to develop an URBAN PROJECT that ENCOURAGES NEW SECTORIAL CENTRALITIES WITH THE EQUIPMENTS that are already being used by the school such as the library, the auditorium, the cafeteria, the support rooms for neighborhood activities.
