Located in one of the highest points of the city of Caxias do Sul/RS. The site provides an outstanding view to the downtown’s skyline. The building’s solar orientation is north-south and the main façade is allocated to the south, where is the most interesting panoramama from the appartments. With this conditioning, the living area was designated to the best view, and dormitory to the best insolation and heat.
Located in Caxias do Sul, the building occupies a wide corner, due to the pre-condition of large roads, making them very wide and of great flow. Low-rise and small-scale buildings occupy the surroundings. In this scenario, the building becomes a protagonist, being the focal point for people and vehicles wich pass by.
The commercial building has seven floors: parking basement, three ground floor shops with mezzanine, three floors with four commercial offices each and technical space. The smaller scale of the building (the total constructed area is about 2,000 m²) and the insertion in a corner allowed us to “sculpt” the primary prism and transform it.
We were hired to order the renovation of this house for a couple and their three children. Their professional life, focused on the financial market, demands a lot of energy, in a stressful and bureaucratic environment. They wanted a drastic change in lifestyle, so they asked us for a house that was integrated, with environments, colors and light materials and totally connected to the external garden.
The time and turn for curved shapes. Fluid architecture is not just an aesthetic issue. It reflects the moment we are living in: the breaking of rigidity. Freer spaces, with less hard lines, make the atmosphere lighter and improve well-being. This is reflected from the design of more flexible layouts, through the finishes and even the execution of the spatial structure.
This 230 m2 property, located next to University city in São Paulo, with bold and current days view approach, is an immersion of the architect Diego Revollo in the universe of flowing and curved lines. The owners of the property , fans of the office, and who have been with us for a long time, agreed to do something outside the comfort zone, with more masonry than joinery resources.
The house is located in a condominium in Nova Lima, a county in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, 25 km from the capital of Minas Gerais. Its simple volume is composed of two rectangular boxes with identical dimensions and external coverings that overlap by a perpendicular design. The contrast between the construction and the presence of the landscape delimits the built space and appropriates the scenery without competing with nature, however assuming human intervention. The green of the vegetation and the blue of the sky transform the landscape and surround the house that permeates the spaces. The large openings frame and direct the views to the surrounding preserved trees, while the vegetation ensures privacy and shadows the internal spaces. The external faces of the logical and straight design, covered with metallic corrugated tile, contrast the organic forms and materiality of nature.
In the iconic neighborhood of Higienópolis, a reference in modernist buildings in São Paulo, this project stands out for the enhancement of space and its visual amplitude, for the natural light coming from the two large windows in the room, and for the combination of textures and materials selected to compose the spaces.
With a contemporary and sophisticated language, we seeked the creation of spaces that passed the message of personality and coziness, dialoguing with new ways of living and entertaining.
Focused on the interaction and contact with natural elements, the design has as its guideline the experience of the resident itself. A functional and elegant architecture, with a minimalist, but at the same time, affectionate feature.
The residence is located on the south coast of the State of São Paulo on a plot close to the sand strip of the beach. The house is implanted in the Atlantic Forest to obtain the combination of the ocean view and the native vegetation view.
The ML residence is located in the city of Nova lima , state of Minas Gerais. The plot is in a mountanious site with an average slope of 53 per cent.
In order to avoid permanent retaining walls (structures) it was decided that the interference in the topography and earthwork would be minimum as well as the number of building pillars, the result being a ‘volume’ which would appear lighter and detached from the ground.
We have also created two concrete walls on the north and South elevations, which not only define the volume of the house, but also prevent the waste of material, as we used metalical formworks.
