The site is defined by a steep slope towards the privileged view of a forest that suggested a vertical organization of the requested program. The ground floor – the entrance to the residence, slightly elevated above the street – is the middle level of the building. The lower floor houses the social area, the service block and the master bedroom. The upper floor houses the children’s bedrooms.
The residence is shaped by two volumes arranged according to the unconventional geometry of the site.
The main volume, the one that stands out by the extensive use of glass, holds the public program of the residence, made up of living and dining rooms and an office. The helicoidal staircase, one of the client’s specific requirements, is contained in this volume, gaining prominence in the social entrance hall.

Located in a noble area of Brasilia, house 636 stands on a sloping lot, where the front street presents an unevenness of 1.4m, the approximate height of half a floor. From this natural property of the site came the idea of a staggered composition for the project, creating spaces on four different levels, separated by halves of flights of stairs.
The result of the composition is a solid volumetry of white boxes, interspersed by a central void, a glass staircase that suggests the movement of the people inside. The floors are arranged in two volumes of 6m wide each and they are articulated by a central void of 3m. The 6–3–6m modular sequence baptizes the house.
The refurbishment of this semi-detached house, a very common type in São Paulo, was planned to receive a Therapeutic Residential that attends, guide and shelter patients in a state of mental suffering.
In Itaipava, our aim was to create a cozy and elegant environment, which should be mainly functional. We used natural materials such as local wood and simple materials like cement to contrast hard styles like the black metal and brass. The house should be easy to understand its spaces even though it has 550 square meters. The guests rooms are exactly the same so there is no distinction. The Master bedroom has a private balcony with closet and suite with bathtub.
Located on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Casa W has simple volumetry. Three stone planes support the robust upper volume of exposed concrete and block the view of those who pass through the access street into the residence. Finally, the volume of wood that crosses the front / back house organizes the service and its support, the kitchen and the grill, freeing up space for the entire social area that opens up to the view of the lake.
The project arose from the owner’s aspiration to have a swimming-pool in his apartment. A wish that was welcomed and taken on board by Brazilian architect Fernanda Marques, who decided to place it right in the living-room, no less, so that in addition to enjoying it for leisure, it would create an element of tension, particularly strong and present. “I designed the apartment for a couple with no children.
The Edifício Argentina, located in Botafogo Beach, is a significant business center of the city. It was built in 1978 during the Brutalism architecture of the 70s and has a central line distribution and two elevator blocks organization.
The proposal to renovate the small and old house at Rua de Ceuta was replaced by the desire to reorganize family life on a less fragmented way, without individualized rooms and conventional arrangement of main body plus a small home.
The ancient construction warm atmosphere was largely maintained by the open courtyard inside the central area. Towards it, the totality of the domestic environments now is turned, benefited by luminosity that takes volume and crosses the geometrical skin glass facade. This courtyard, even internal, let the house enjoy the outside life, in a spiral walkway that starts from the social entrance, runs through the void inside and outside and ends on the roof, also a family living area.
Hidden in a nice building of modernist architecture from the 50s, this apartment was found in the city center by the client after almost 1 year of intense searches. The apartment needed to be put down for technical reasons and the client’s own need.
