The concept of FBV WP house is based on a deep analysis of each one of the landscape elements as well as the owners’ lifestyle. The volumes’ composition has been elaborated in such a way that the residents’ gaze would be drawn into the plot’s interior, with the preserved wooded area – the project’s great actor – as background.
Casa Florenzano is located in Jardins Munich, a horizontal condominium in the city of Goiânia, in central Brazil. The tropical and hot climate was decisive in the adopted party. Ground floor, light and well ventilated, the house is discreet in its volume, defined by few lines. Establishes an intense dialogue with the garden. The living environments are joined to the balcony through large frames, which when open, result in a unique environment.
Located in Vila Olímpia, in São Paulo, the project was conceived for a single young man who wanted an apartment that reflected his cosmopolitan lifestyle. As he lived alone, one request was to modify the original apartment plan, integrating one of the three bedrooms with the living room and increasing the social area space to receive friends. In addition, the balcony was closed and integrated into the living room, creating an area of about 75m² that includes a dining room, living room, and gourmet kitchen with bar.
The Cité Rooftop bar and restaurant is located on the roof of a multifunctional building, which houses apartments and commercial offices in downtown Florianópolis, Brazil.
The space previously operated at another address and was inspired by the city of Paris. Making a connection between the previous and the current environment, the initial reference remained the same, but with the addition of new inspirations.
The entrance hall, with its contrasting colors and prints and the walls covered by heavy fabric curtains, recalls the private and often secret clubs of the City of Light.
Located in Fazenda Boa Vista, a luxury condominium in the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil, Jatobá House stands with its simple lines and imposing volumes in the middle of the Atlantic Forest. Far from the big city, the country house has escapism as its mantra: every detail brings a relaxing atmosphere, where residents can disconnect and enjoy nature in its purest and simplest form.
The project’s conception started with a large block, which evolved volumetrically and was fragmented, filling the entire plot of land. The five large white cubic blocks that mark the project were then created: each of them is an independently functioning suite. Thus, the privacy and comfort of the family, consisting of a young couple with two teenage children, are preserved.
Entering the condominium, we cross completely until we reach the last and highest block, where from afar we can already see two cold and symmetrical volumes, embraced, unified by a free floating and expressive marquise, an architecture with a timeless characteristic.
What instigated the creation of this project was the great challenge of designing a residence in detached lots, without being able to unify and work with looser regulations. Even so, we reached an interesting and simple solution. Having as a frontal view two blocks, named after studies of insulation and thermal comfort as intimate on the left and right social sides.
A country retreat. That was the dream of the young couple with children, when back in 2019 they hired us to design their country house interiors. Long-time clients of our firm, they expressed their desire for a cosy space, which could offer the same amenities they have in their home in the city, but providing other sensory and aesthetic experiences, with a more direct interaction with nature.
Due to the pandemic, this desire was strengthened and translated into the search for lightness and calmness in each one of the rooms. A neutral palette has then been adopted, dictating the décor of the entire residence. Avoiding any colourful element – in order not to compromise the peaceful aura that we intended to emphasize –, the design approach focused on exploring different forms, framings and plasticities, especially promoting the use of natural materials.
Above the city level, located on top of one of the central neighborhood’s hills, a sloping terrain gives way to the Asa de Borboleta Residence. Adopting the lifestyle and preferences of the family, the project approached the contemporary applied to the location and the direction of the land to the city related to the path of the sun.
At first glance, when entering the gate, a patio in front of the children’s bedrooms introduces the lightness and the relationship of the house with the outside. The brise element on the bedroom doors allows light and ventilation to enter, whether open or closed.
The Barreiros Association is a non-profit institution, private, that serves students of public schools in Ilhabela, a town placed in an island, seaside in the southeast of Brazil, in the turn of classes, aiming to contribute to the formation of conscious citizens, socially integrated and prepared for the plein the exercise of their citizenship. It seeks to promote a reflective and inclusive education, linking learning and life.
In June 2019 we were invited to design the reform of the Association’s cafeteria and to create a contiguous space that had the function ofrecreational space and coexistence, especially for rainy days, and at the same time could be used for various events.
Pier 31 is a multi-family residential building worthy of a small, thriving and growing city. The building is located in a high point of the city of Flores da Cunha, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil, a municipality that stands out for its wine production and furniture manufacturing, balancing innovation and tradition.
Therefore, Pier 31 could not be much different: the building was conceived on a relatively narrow site, with contemporary design and only four floors intended for apartments with generally traditional floor plans. The project’s differential lies precisely in the contemporary design: unusual for the region, but still respecting the urban scale and occasionally bringing some elements common to the city’s culture to the façade and interiors, such as wood, vegetation, and the metal railing. In addition, although the plans have followed a more restrained and traditional configuration, Pier 31 has brought two new products to the city: a linear penthouse apartment with incredible views and two lean one-bedroom duplex apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows that also enjoy the views of this high point of the region.
