The third apartment in the series of renovations by CoDA, designed by architect Marcílio Mendes Ferreira, is located on block 210 south, in Brasília. The block is considered one of the best preserved in the capital and even received the architecture council of the Federal District seal for its historical value in 2020.
A country retreat. That was the dream of the young couple with children, when back in 2019 they hired us to design their country house interiors. Long-time clients of our firm, they expressed their desire for a cosy space, which could offer the same amenities they have in their home in the city, but providing other sensory and aesthetic experiences, with a more direct interaction with nature.
Due to the pandemic, this desire was strengthened and translated into the search for lightness and calmness in each one of the rooms. A neutral palette has then been adopted, dictating the décor of the entire residence. Avoiding any colourful element – in order not to compromise the peaceful aura that we intended to emphasize –, the design approach focused on exploring different forms, framings and plasticities, especially promoting the use of natural materials.
Summer House emerged with the purpose of a space for contemplation of nature.
The desire for a practical, functional and cozy home has always been one of the office’s principles. The identity and essence of the client are important factors in the elaboration of spaces, so the certainty of belonging to the house is acquired naturally.
The architectural party, with sectored volumetry, is inserted into the topography respecting and making the most of the terrain’s potential. This feature made it possible to make the infinity edge pool with natural stones.
For the design of this matcharia, we sought to escape the traditional, with minimalist references that were translated into the organic forms that constitute the concept of the project. The base of light tones was used in order to bring a greater breath to the space and serve as a blank canvas to work on the green that is the brand’s signature at some points within the project.
The land for the single-family building is located on Praia da Gamboa (Garopaba, Santa Catarina, Brazil), next to a conservation area, where the view of the sea and nature will always be predominant. The Mares de Garopaba district is a calm destination full of natural landscapes, for residents and occasional tourists.
The name of the house came from the possibility of seeing North Atlantic Right Whales at certain times of the year. That’s why the terrace faces the sea and the morning sun, providing the chance to see them during your passage and stay on the Gamboa coast.
Signed by architect David Bastos, this 395m² apartment is located in the Vila Olímpia neighborhood of São Paulo.
Recently delivered by the construction company, the apartment had not been inhabited. The new owners, a couple with two teenage children, requested the restructuring of the property, with removal and displacement of walls, so that some environments were integrated and the apartment better served their needs.

The APA Apartment is a project developed to create a harmonious and full of life home for a family with young children. Inserted in a privileged location in the Batel neighborhood, in Curitiba, the 290m2 apartment has a modern and sophisticated essence, with ample spaces and designed in an integrated way to better meet the needs of customers. The initial plan, where the kitchen and balcony were isolated from the other living environments, was modified in order to integrate the spaces, generating a single and wide area where the family’s day-to-day activities converge, in an architecture designed to promote meetings. One of the rooms of the original plan was also removed, creating an office and increasing the living area, the space in the house where life takes place.
The 235m² duplex penthouse was the choice of artist and influencer from Minas Gerais, Sophia Mattar, who arrived in São Paulo two years ago. With the desire to live in a property with open spaces, minimalist, elegant, but above all a true haven of peace, he hired the architects Amanda Castro and Giovana Giosa, from the Studio AG office, to lead the renovation of the project.
The generous 60m² outdoor area, with a backyard style, became even more cozy after being fully integrated into the social environments. All the walls on this floor, with the exception of the structural ones, were torn down, including the other balcony, which gave space to the dining room, which provided multipurpose, relaxing and uncluttered environments.
The Mossunguê neighborhood in Curitiba is one of the most remarkable results in the history of real estate development in the city, concentrating the highest sales values per square meter. The region, commercially known as Ecoville, is marked mainly by rapid transit roads, isolated buildings, high walls and little life in the public space.
Almost as a counterpoint, José Carolo Street is configured as a quiet street, with smaller buildings and a more friendly urban scale. The site, just one block away from the main traffic roads, exemplifies the contrasts of the still growing neighborhood.
