Man transforms the environment, interferes with nature in order to produce spaces that shelter their daily activities. In this process, he causes changes, builds objects, thinks about artifices inserted in the natural environment. This intervention suggests a reflection on the relationship between nature and artifice. Thus, it proposes buildings that are at the same time: artifact and landscape, coverage and relief, shelter and open area.
Every entrepreneur dreams with the growth of his company, and generally this growth is accompanied by a series of changes in the company. New needs, new people, new organizational structures and, above all, the reach of maturity of the brand’s values and personality.

The brazilian architecture office Biselli Katchborian Arquitetos, led by the architects Artur Katchborian and Mario Biselli, are the responsible of the new retrofit and expansion project of Etapa School, in a building orignally designed in 1984 by the brazilian architect Paulo Bastos in São Paulo (Brazil).
In addition to the search for new natural light entrances, better clarity and a good institutional communication, the proposal took advantage of the 15 meters gap between Palestina street and Mascote avenue (located in the east side of the town) to create two accesses. The project program school consists of 2 blocks, with the largest one dedicated to classrooms and laboratories and the smallest dedicated mainly to administrative functions.
The ‘LM’ residence is located in a private condominium in Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
This residence was built on a land with 1.056,43 m², and its project conception appeared in order to attend the demands of a couple who aspires to receive family and friends, and also having a practical and confortable house, where they can work and practice their hobbies.
Located on the south coast of Rio de Janeiro, Laranjeiras residence is inspired by the lush nature of the surroundings. Steel is the structural core, wood the shell that protects it from the sea and connects it to the green area, one of the most beautiful in Brazil.
The large glass frames are the thin membrane dividing and uniting the interior and exterior spaces. Fernanda Marques’ first objective was to create a dialogue between the parts, making Laranjeiras a contemporary jewel between the ocean and the rainforest.
With a privileged location, the Por do Sol house is next to the famous Por do Sol square, a scene that has been widely acclaimed for exercising the function of a gazebo, being one of the favorite places of paulistas to admire the sunset. Located in the Alto de Pinheiros district, Casa Por do Sol is a single-family house designed to house a couple and their two daughters.
The architect, also a resident of the house, conceived the project by proposing an inversion of the patterns of traditional housing, choosing to allocate the bedrooms on the lower floor and the living areas on the floor above, thus providing greater privacy in the intimate areas while favoring the late afternoon view in the most interactive environments.
Designing the new headquarters for ABF Developments was full of invigorating challenges. The first one was to represent a groundbreaking innovative company, focused on designing real estate properties that correspond directly to the customers’ needs and longings. Assuring that this rigorous public felt connection to the project’s language was one of the main purposes of the intriguing and appealing design and shape in the urban landscape.
This work, located in Nova Lima a Brazilian city in the state of Minas Gerais, is now under construction. It is inserted in a huge and complex 8.000 square meters land, with stone walls remaining from an old construction, native forest, grassy plateaus and spectacular views of the mountains. There is also a grotto, which will be incorporated into the new building program.
The project is the result of an extensive research on design that sough a response to all of these site characteristics. The new elements were implemented as shiny pieces that contrast with the rusticity of the walls and existing nature on the grounds. Nature incorporates itself into the house in a poetic way, through the dilution of the boundaries between interior and exterior.
The Soil House explores the contact of people with the floor, soil, the grass. Its irregular shape deviases the trees and embraces the center of the ground reinforcing this relationship with the Land.
In this apartment, we had the experience of adapting a previous project, which had not fully met the owners’ needs. The focus of the renovation was the living room and kitchen space, which also included the integration with the balcony area, little used by the couple.
