The Concept store for the designer Guilherme Wentz is a result of a renovation of a two-story building. The Architecture office took advantage of the existing recessed entrance to create an external seating area with tropical garden and a facade in two planes: one in the gable of the neighboring lot with the name of the store, and the other, the shop front itself with access to the store.
When the client came to Studio Canto Arquitetura (Brazil) to ask for this project, they was looking for more comfort. Purchased by a couple to live close to work and have a better quality of life during the week with their daughter, Studio Canto made few structural interventions in the apartment, but creating solutions that reflected the essence of the client. A neutral palette with plenty of wood, burnt cement and lead ash makes the mood of the project.
A classic-style apartment, almost 20 years old, is the new home of a young couple with two children who, having already hired the office for the previous residence, have returned this time for the renovation and decoration of this new 330 m2 property located in Jardim Guedala – Morumbi neighborhood – in São Paulo.
The House E+N was designed for a couple of retired southern Brazilian (gaúchos), who dreamed of leaving an apartment, to live in a house with garden with enough space to make a vegetable plot.
The design is basically a white parallelepiped of 12×14,5m that opens organically creating spaces between interior and exterior, through patios, terraces, connections, and the open garage. This white element is placed on a sloping terrain, with a black wall that contacts the slope.
The industrial city of São Bernardo do Campo, in the metropolitan area of Sao Paulo, played a remarkable role in the recent democracy in Brazil. It was there where the former president Lula arose as a syndicalist to found the workers party, PT, in 1980. Under the second consecutive government of the mayor Luiz Marinho, the Board of Health nowadays is led by Odete Carmem Gialdi who succeeded Arthur Chioro, currently incumbent of the Ministry of Health in Brasilia whose headship focuses on strategies to assure assistance of quality for all.
The house was designed for a young couple who requested the use of simple materials in an easily readable space, so that the family’s identity would be printed from the objects and furniture placed on the site and the routine in the new home.
Camouflaged in the middle of the Atlantic Forest in Iporanga, Sloth’s House is the manifestation of the desire of a large family to be close to nature and, hopefully, spot the nice mammal from time to time in its natural habitat.
Almost see-through the lines of this house, built in a very steep plot in São Paulo – evoke the rationalist architecture of Mies van der Rohe. He is known, among others, for the German pavilion built in Barcelona to host the 1929 World Exhibition, which is still open at the foot of Montjuïc.
Salto de Pirapora is a satellite city 25km from Sorocaba and the house is located on the road that connects these two cities. The 1000m2 plot has an eitght meters slope and looks out over a small ecological reserve bordering a stream.
The design for the House in Peruíbe begins with an existing house, very precarious from the point of view of its conservation. Above all, this existing house lacked the enjoyment potentialities that the site and the condition of being very close to beach offered – even though being in an urban lot and the house not being just for vacation.
