Stylish Black Lines Apartment is located in Bucharest, in a building finished in the beginning of 2020. It has two bedrooms : a master bedroom and an office that becomes the guest bedroom when needed. The initial partition was modified a little bit, because we wanted to create an open-space between the kitchen and the living room.
Day area
The black metallic elements, the well defined lines, the insertion of hard wood parts all around the furniture and the color accents found mainly in the upholstered objects, create all together a stylish industrial atmosphere inside this new apartment.

How to produce architecture in a city described by its destructions, where the population has so long been diminished in its power of memory and its individuality?
In this situation of discontinuity, it is a question of awakening the gaze: Convene history as a topical news. It’s a strong act, a political act that the French – Lebanese architecture firm YTAA proposes to question.
From a 1930s villa, typical of Bucharest’s fabric, the architect Youssef Tohme took over, not only the architectural function, but the symbolic and urban function as well. Erected on a glazed base, and thus open to the public, the reproduced house simultaneously becomes a museum piece and a shout to the city, to confrontation, to culture.
the apartment house proposed here lays in one of the representative areas of bucharest, in an area where “the built” is mostly residential and where the two lakes in the neighbourhood lead you towards a possible romantic atmosphere. the importance of the location makes necessary to approach the proposal from the perspective of a possible urban object “landmark”. in a residential theme context the materiality of the façade received a special meaning starting with the concept. thus, the texture coated on wood has the role of creating a sensation of “home”. the volumetry introduces the concept of prismatic compositional hybrid having the role of sugesting the multitude of intimate spaces as being “little houses” belonging to a “mother-house”. the general sensation created by the proposed concept bringing states of: relaxation, intimacy, integrating the perspectives of natural landscape, safety and mental comfort, could create the assumptions of a possible “home”.
The store or the usual market as the daily venue in town is for everyone the symbol of exchanging news, fragrances, flavors, emotions… it’s the place to get a real cultural pulse or a vitaminizing sensorial experience.
B4 is the place where like at the market we are assaulted by a multitude of objects, colors and materials vibrated by the light of the moment that open our senses towards a possible revealing feel. the visual, auditory, olfactory and gustatory emotions display here one by one into a “garden” of experiences, touching the “explorers” within us in the context of the new Bucharest urban landscape…
There are two main guidelines for the architectural concept of Paloma Offices: the connection between the interior space that flows into the surrounding exterior and site constraints that generate the need to create a symbol for the area. The challenging requirements of the context led us to design the structure and escape paths towards the outer sides of the building, taking full advantage of the plot’s dimensions. We aimed to emphasize the building’s height, concealing its proportions by dividing the façade into modules. The rhythm of the cell grid pattern creates a dynamic continuous mesh, without indicating the height of each floor. As a result, the cells become sun protected private niches.
We imagined the community life of this building centered around two urban, yet private courtyards. BC 13 unfolds around these two defining spaces, ensuring organic connections to its neighboring buildings. The brick paved and planted courtyards offer opportunities of interaction. Both access staircases as well as all the apartments benefit from a visual link with these courtyards, provided by large loggias and sill-less windows.
The apartment is located in the very center of Bucharest, the capital city of Romania, on the ground floor of a building completed in 2015. The 2 bedroom apartment came with white finished walls, beautiful wood flooring and 2 bathrooms, fully equipped and finished with travertine stone and ceramic tiles. The most valuable aspect of the apartment is the natural light flushing into the space thanks to the large windows.
The project title, My Precious, sums up the essence of the clients’ brief, their wish for a contemporary and elegant design that focuses on stylish finishes and textures. As they are residents of a seaside city, they also wished to season the design with a marine touch to remind them of their home – we respected this request by using turquoise and dark blue shades, such as the glass backsplash in the kitchen with a marine print, which became one of the most spectacular and memorable design elements in the whole apartment.
This creative space was meant to express a contemporary modern vibe, mixing Scandinavian chic influences, Japanese decor, Mid-century furniture and coloured, dynamic accents. Considering the aim of multifunctional needs in space, this project was also created as a cosy, relaxing spot for two, a place of well-being. Interior design work aimed at a youthful stimulating yet calm environment, in a subtle elegance with relaxed notes. The colour scheme through space synthesises the creative ambience concept. Along with the custom furniture layout, living area mingles with the other spaces in a functional and stylistic way. Scandinavian furniture(Sits, Innovation Living, BoConcept), Made.com lights and art prints on the walls are focus points with a bohemian vibe for the social spot of the house.
