A3 – Advanced Architecture Apartments in Sofia, Bulgaria by STARH

Thursday, November 23rd, 2017

Article source: v2com

Advanced Architecture Apartments are harmoniously incorporated into the context of their environment. Two starting points—the mountain and the city, set the overall architectural concept. The plot reserved for A3 is in the border area, where the city and the mountain overflow into one. Lines and clear borders are blurred in smooth and soft forms, allowing everyone to determine exactly where and how to perceive shape and space. Situated in one of the most contemporary areas of Sofia—Bulgaria Blvd., A3 is designed to be relevant, contextual and avant-garde. Some of the most modern and interesting buildings in Sofia are exactly here. On the other hand, a very dominant element of the environment is the mountain, peeking in the future building. The combination of these two powerful components results in a dynamic and modern shape of the building, without harming the function.

DSK bank

At the beginning of 2016 we won an architectural competition to design a new look of the office branches of one of the largest banks in Bulgaria. We developed a detailed concept of contemporary outlook and new customer service environment that formed the basis for the renovation of the bank’s branch network in line with its modernization and digitalization policy. Stemming from the idea of future digital banking, we completed the pilot design of a centrally located bank office, opened for customers at the beginning of 2017.

QP Apartments in Sofia, Bulgaria by HAVE Architects

Thursday, June 8th, 2017

Article source: HAVE Architects

The main objective of the project was to create something entirely different from the common residential buildings in Bulgaria, most of which are characterized as “recycled socialistic” panel blocks. There are two types of materials used on the façade – colored metal panels for the “golden shell” and dark tinted glass for the apartments. In between each apartment, there are curtains – some of them are from tinted glass and others from perforated stainless steel. Due to the strict technical parameters of the projected buildings, a big part of the construction is heavily monitored. The project “QP apartments” consists of three individual buildings with various types of housing options and parking on the ground level. The first building is called Q, which houses smaller apartments, while the other building named P, is bigger and includes luxurious penthouses. On the ground level of both apartment buildings, there is place for parking and recreational areas.

Live music club (1000 sq. m.), re-creation of midnight flight under a starry sky.

NIGHT FLIGHT is a live music club that spreads on 1000 sq. m. Our design was inspired by its name. We re-created the notion of a midnight walk/ flight under a starry sky. We situated the stage in the center of the space in order to achieve 360º contact with the audience. The seating is arranged in three tiers + one balcony. We created a boudoir for the VIP tier that overlooks the main hall.

Flash club in Bansko, Bulgaria by studio MODE

Friday, February 3rd, 2017

Article source: studio MODE

Flash club is a night club situated in Bansko, Bulgaria. Its area spreads around 465.00 Sq.m. / 5005.22 sq.ft.

We found inspiration in the aesthetics of the science fiction movie Tron: Legacy, a sequence of the old movie Tron. The materiality of the design is achieved by light and reflections. The force of the sound, the flash of light, the transfusion of spaces. The circle became our engine. We connected spa_ally every fiber of the club. The flow of spaces is comprehensible and logical. The space of the club changes constantly by the movement and presence of people inside. The ceiling and walls reflect and refract the movement inside in different angles and projections, which gives a dynamic impression of the space. The amphitheatrical space of the VIP podiums are connected to the dry bar via and endless beam of light, graphically emphasizing their shapes in the infinitude. Through endless fleshes, the spotlights, hit every reflective surface and creating an endless parade of visual illusions and mystery. We made the space flow less by creating a sci-fi amphitheater, which unified the whole club. Continuous surfaces and curves embracing the customers and welcoming the sound of music. The restrooms, themselves, are an endless highways of light. They were an essential part of the design, where you get the feeling of infinity and teleportation throughout space and time.
