A large format stereotomy states all benefits of natural stone.

Two kinds of white marble with slightly greyish seams and three kinds of finishings to them. Polished, brush hammered and sandblasted, they supply altogether a range of ten different textures in a space full with contrasts even within its continuity.

Eco Vall in Castellón, Spain by Juan Marco Marco

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

Article source: Juan Marco Marco

On the basis of a Prototype designed for a competition, we have given shape to this installation in a concrete territory:
an installation in the landscape. Ecoparks being centres of collective collection of domestic waste (excepting the organic kind,
for which normalised channels of elimination already exist), we consider it essential to introduce in the project the communications variable, or at least to generate its possibility.

Coma 02 House in Castellón, Spain by Juan Marco Marco

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013

Article source: Juan Marco Marco

The house is located on a lot of 1560 square meters, with a complex topography of steep slopes both in the longitudinal (north-south) and transversal (east-west) directions. The strategy for the project is developed from two initial decisions:

– Locating the dwelling in the highest area (the least usable, a priori), where the slope is the steepest, to generate horizontal areas (habitable, usable) in the rest of the lot. In this way, the entire lot can be surveyed from the house, the relationship with the landscape is thus intensified, and the best natural ventilation is taken advantage of, which is important given the harsh climate especially in the summer.

Vallpala Sports Centre in Castellón, Spain by Vicente Salvador + Ignacio Vidal arquitectos

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

Article source: Vicente Salvador + Ignacio Vidal arquitectos

The sports facility completes a public urban block where it stands currently theHonoriGarciaHigh School, the local council sports pavilion and the local council swimming pool building.  Given that the entirety of the block is publicly owned, the first thing to establish was the definition of the site to occupy.  With the aim of getting a well rationalised and arranged organisation of built elements and resulting in-between spaces, it was decided to establish the length of the existing sports pavilion as the width of the site, leaving at either side pedestrian streets to access the neighbouring facilities.

Social Housing at Boera Park in Castellon, Spain by Peñín Architects

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

Article source: Peñín Architects

The Project focuses on questions like density, porosity, intimacy and adaptation to the city, through the alternancy between void and mass. In the framework of a master plan developed together with OAB and Edifica for the area occupied by the former Villa Dolores at the west side of the city of Castellón, the proposal for those social houses is placed in the most geometrically complex site, with a triangular perimeter with a curved hypotenuse.

CADENA VISUAL-OPTIMIL OFFICES in Castellón, Spain by ALT Arquitectura

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

The project arises from the manipulation of a continuous surface which by means of two operations, cutting and folding, resolve the entire programme. In this way it appears as if it were an object which does not emerge from the ground, it poses on it. Without jumps or breaks in its continuity, it wraps playfully round the topography being an external face and internally, a floor, wall, ceiling, framework and roof. The internal programme resolves itself with diaphanous and interconnected spaces, changing its height in sequence in order to resolve the different scales. It is an object susceptible to being expanded or reduced without marring the whole, since the result is an open process
