The “BEN MOO Brand Exhibition Hall”, located on the fifth floor of Fusen-Noble House in Nanmen, is one of the latest works carefully planned and designed by Rene Liu and Jiajun Tang, the design directors of HDC Design.
This exhibition hall is a brand-new design work created by the designers after carefully reading the series composition and development concept of BEN MOO products, together with the brand, using a restrained and spiritual design aesthetic. Therefore, in terms of functionality, aesthetic significance, and the sense of “communication” in contemporary commercial space, it has reached a high degree of fit.
The project is located in Hall 2, Fusen Mall, Chengdu, China, which gathers many brands and also forms a unique immersive shopping experience center. The project is on the left side of the escalator on the third floor of the mall, facing the atrium, but it is easy to be missed by consumers in the actual sight . How to solve this problem is an urgent problem for design.
Fang Ting Bookstore is located in OCT O’PARK commercial district, close to Hutaoli. Looking from the street that is close to water, the building’s external facade is a transparent glass curtain wall. The arc’s external wall is half covered with a white metal curtain. Combined with the gradual glass film of the lower half, a delicate balance is achieved between the virtual and the real without affecting the internal lighting. Approaching the outside seating area, a “Book of Longing” opens a mottled brick entrance.
Dujiangyan city features in the wild forests in Chengdu Plain, famous of the Panda, and a tremendous ancient water institution in two thousand years ago. Our project lies in the raw massif; and is accompanied by forests, rivers, precious wild creatures. Like a floating roof between the hills and trees, the architecture provides a primitive forest retreat experience.
The architect is designated to decide on the site on a vast scale. Walking in the rural and original forest, the architect finally selected four areas, bare ground and covered by rare vegetation.
Vanke · City Growth Hall is located in the ‘Eastern Suburb Memory’ in Chengdu. The original building held the Hongguang Electronic Tube Factory, a state-run factory which was founded in 1958 which produced oscilloscopes and kinescopes for the military. The old factory was left to ruin whilst the other neighboring buildings have become part of a thriving cultural and design hub.
Our concept for renovation was to create a clear language between old and new, to leave traces and history of the existing building, whilst inserting a series of new contrasting elements.
The design concept originates from the idea of “a book falling from the sky”, and the shape of book is engaged with the architectural form to visualize the metaphor. Visitors are expected to step into the architectural space and get immersed into the tranquility to develop a positive self-talk and a journey of self-discovery.
