FICHA TECNICA HOTEL REMOTA in PATAGONIA, Chile by Germán del Sol, Architect

Tuesday, July 1st, 2014

Article source: Germán del Sol, Architect

The inspiration

The inspiration are the sheep farm’s buildings of Patagonia.

Not the main houses of the estancias, their warm interiors closed to their place, but the buildings made for the sheep farm works where daily life in Patagonia is lived, and finds an splendor of its own; the barns for drying the sheep’s hides and for the many other works at the estancias, that have to be done inside because of the cold or the wind, or both.

An the other many signs of human live dispersed in Patagonia, like the endless wire fences, the small houses for the shepherd’s dogs, etc.

Article source: AATA ARQUITECTOS ASOCIADOS

The requirement of the client was consisting of a small cabin for guests.

It was thought as an element that stands on the ground with almost no intervention of it. For the same reason it was thought in 2 stories. That way less surface deals with the ground.

The project is a 540cm cube (exterior measure) of wooden structure with two stories inside.

BOULEVARD LAS BRUJAS – COMMERCIAL BUILDING in Santiago, Chile by MAS FERNANDEZ ARQUITECTOS

Saturday, June 7th, 2014

Article source: MAS FERNANDEZ ARQUITECTOS

“Boulevard Las Brujas” building is the synthesis of the accumulated experience in Retail buildings by the office during the last 10 years, such as shopping centers Pio XI , Luis Carrera, San Felix, Av Peru and others.

The large covering that wraps the volumes that contain shops, helps to give the building a strong appearance, leaving the billboards captivated by architecture.

The corporative images of todays main market brands are far away from what one would like as an architect (far away from the reality), with which we have to work on our commercial architecture.

Tunquén House in Valparaiso, Chile by MasFernandez arquitectos

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014

Article source: MasFernandez arquitectos

Thinking about a second home, it is inevitable to imagine a place with special features, much more if it is facing the sea. The Elizabeth House, as we call it for a long time in honor of his owner, who is a single 50 years old mother, reflects very well the clarity, simplicity and honesty with which, in our view, should tackle these projects.

SANTO TOMAS PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE – FIRST STAGE in San Joaquín, Chile by enrique browne y arquitectos asociados

Thursday, March 20th, 2014

Article source: enrique browne y arquitectos asociados

The plot is located in a corner of the busy Vicuña Mackenna Avenue, on which an elevated metro runs. Located in front of the site is the largest Campus of one of the most important universities in the country. Its main access is on the diagonal to the site of the Santo Tomás Professional Institute. Another important issue is the oppressive presence of a metro station of 150 meters in length, located in front of the site with the height of 4 floors. The only visual relief occurs at the corner of the site, exactly on the mentioned diagonal. It was thus decided to access the Institute on that axis.

Quebrada house in Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile
 by UNarquitectura

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Article source: UNarquitectura

The request was to build a tree house…

Located on the creek, elevated by pilotis, it is accessible through a bridge and has views at the level of the foliage of trees.

The house “breaks” adapting to the slope and differentiating the private and public space within a single enclosure. It also captures the views of the forrest and the sky.
