Our design proposal for the project `Palermo Cultural Centre´ is based on external factors such as weather, prevailing winds, sunlight, connecting roads, flows and internal movements of people, site location and orientation, existing infrastructure, green space and public areas. At the same time, it considers internal aspects such as occupation strategy and efficiency, building systems, spatial quality related to views, spatial connection, floor to ceiling height, common and public spaces inside and outside the building, allowing for each of the activities to be undertaken.
MAVA´S house is placed in “Beranda ”urbanization, wich is located in between Cachagua´s and maitencillo´s spas in Chile. The location is in a really strong slope, with a radical sight to Pacific Ocean. It is exposed to South-West winds.
The main strategy was to create a big terrace, creating this “new floor” that would allow the “leisure life” and make even more perceptible the Ocean sight, Offering a unique relationship between the inhabitant and the horizon line, the same way as the cliffs do.
Omnibus The house is located in the vicinity of the Quebrada de Aguas Claras, on top of the entrance to Cachagua Zapallar coming from Laguna, on a gently sloping, surrounded by high and numerous eucalyptus, and chain faces Cachagua surrounding hills and Zapallar, with a distant view of the Pacific Ocean.
The house in the form of a horizontal rectangular 23.5 m. long x 7.00 m. wide and 3.50 m. high and is mounted on a base, from where you enter up to the main floor and then the roof terrace.
ASSIGNMENT: Showroom design and construction. Its purpose is to welcome Exxacon potential customers. The showroom must be operative throughout the building labors, showing elegance and the corporate identity that characterizes Exxacon. Its structure must
be developed in a modular shape that utilizes only detachable and reusable materials.
MATERIALS: Chosen materials for the construction are directly related with the objective of achieving a completely detachable and reusable showroom for future Exxacon projects. The general structure is built in steel modular pieces, OSB plaques and structural plywood plaques. Windows are built in aluminum panels and simple crystal. The access is built as a brushed pinewood deck. Exterior screen is made of medestuk chain mail.
This house located atan extraordinary urban space is conceived as a “pavilion opened to landscape”. It´s back coincides with the access. It´s hermetic closed curved walls are inspired in the experience of walking by the Richard Serra sculpture of the Bilbao´s Guggenheim with my daughter, Clara.
Certain factors, such as the Business District site in relation to the city, connecting roads, site location and orientation, sunlight, prevailing winds, flows and internal movements of people in the Business District, existing infrastructure, green spaces and public areas, were considered when deciding on aspects such as form, building location in the site, occupation strategy, the difference in levels, the inclined facades, the roof slope, i.e. the overall design.
The San Francisco Javier School is an institution related to the Compañía de Jesus, which founded this school around 1850, in the center of the emerging city of Puerto Montt. It was in fact the first church and parish, and part of its facilities are now a National Monument. The development and densification of the center, and the transfer of its inhabitants to residential areas in new neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city, forced the relocation of the school. This new building is located in the heart of high Pelluhue, a new residential district located east of the city.
The commission consists about a house on the south shore of Lake Rupanco, Region de los Lagos. The property is set in a single first floor and as a novelty seeks the permanent contact with the surrounding and the view. Besides minding that the house is emplaced and it is not a discordant element to the environment.
This house is placed in the last third of a sloping site which it is accessed from below. This position determinates the construction so that the access path doesn’t interrupt the view of the near context of the house.
The whole program is developed in a unique level, with the exception of a bedroom, a bathroom and a guests living room that takes advantage of the acclivity of the site and appears below the main volume of the house.
The assignment is a single unit house in a residential park in northern Santiago. The sites, around 5000 m2 each and mostly surrounded by golf fields and green areas, have the constant presence of the Andes, high temperatures during summer time and winds from the south. The project seeks to incorporate the landscape in the household daily life, following the client’s request who wanted to spend a long time throughout the year in the exterior spaces.
