Canopy Michelin Headquarters Reception Area in Clermont-Ferrand, France by ENCORE HEUREUX Architectes

Monday, January 9th, 2023

Article source: ENCORE HEUREUX Architectes

Michelin’s Canopy was implanted in the Carmes site of Clermont-Ferrand since the company’s inception in the late 19th century, and instituted as its headquarters in the 2000s. The project, delivered in 2021 and carried by the partnership between Encore Heureux Architectes, Construire and Base, aims to embody the image of the group in a welcoming, unique and cohesive space, all while inserting itself in an emblematic public square. The headquarters’ innovative new reception area symbolizes Michelin’s reinvention, conceived to face 21st century challenges head-on; a design and operation that were conceptualized in a circular economy perspective, mindful of environmental impact.

Irene Popard in Clermont-Ferrand, France by AGENCE BERNARD BÜHLER

Sunday, April 1st, 2018

Article source: AGENCE BERNARD BÜHLER

The Residence Irene Popard, to Clermont-Ferrand (France), counts 89 units including 29 in social accession and 60 social rental housings. The green corridor is the spine of the project which take its source between the buildings of the neighboring plot. The idea is that the various buildings meander, sneaks in a duality between distance and rapprochement with other buildings facing each other. Hence this zigzag movement.

Within the C.H.U. of Clermont-Ferrand, the project suggests to gather together the various departments of the GRED in a single equipment, which assembles research and teaching spaces with a breeding ground of companies and common services. This concept lets imagine new opportunities for exchange tools and knowledges as well as fruitful synergies, encouraged by the shape and functionality of the new building.

Clermont-Ferrand School of architecture in France by du Besset-Lyon architectes urbanistes

Thursday, December 24th, 2015

Article source: AHA

The task was to transform a sanatorium, built in 1930’s, into a School of Architecture. The Sanatorium is a perfect example of functional architecture, and it has to change radically its function. In order to preserve the rational spirit of the existing building and to create a model of a coherent architecture for the future students, our project becomes a pure reconversion: we restated the main architectural concept of the Sanatorium.
