Casa Quieta is a residential cluster in the northern part of Cuernavaca with a mild microclimate, rich topography and biodiversity: ponds, streams and Cuernavaca´s profuse vegetation. This natural richness became the design principle for each space in Casa Quieta 12. Architecture unfolds from sights, orientation and trees merging harmonically.
The house essence builds up from its context: its principal axis emphasizes the void between trees with geometric lines it approaches the landscape’s fluency. The design premise was a negotiation with nature: to spread out or fall back where it demanded so; always looking after interior distribution and composition. Privacy coexists with magnificent open views through terraces and gardens. A blind façade to the street solves this paradox and creates great contrast when crossing the threshold into open and luminous spaces.
“Smart Living”. The luxury of rest.
Today we live in an accelerated manner within the city. Quality of life is measured by luxury rather than experience. On this basis we opted for a practical and sincere architecture to respond to our customer needs, prioritizing internal open spaces naturally lit. Less square meters built allowed a better construction cost, less resources and greater interaction with nature.
Our goal was to create a house and relaxing experience of absolute rest and to contribute to a better environment improving life quality.
The property is located in the north of the city of Cuernavaca , enjoying the best climate in the city,( worldwide). The neighborhood Tlaltenango enjoys excellent connectivity and history, is now a central scenery with the city of Cuernavaca and conurbations spaces . Nueva Tabachin is a midpoint of the colony in a canyon with little topography, perfect to go unnoticed and to have a better lifestyle scenario.
La Estancia Wedding Gardens were conceived in a traditional Mexican baroque colonial style. When one of Bunker’s associates decided to marry here it was made known to us that the owners had been toying for some time with the idea of building a chapel in the same style as their gardens, since all previous weddings took place under a light canvas canopy roof. They found very romantic the idea of an architect designing the chapel he would marry in so the commission was granted to us.
This is a house located in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The main idea was to generate a place where the interior lived open to the garden. Cuernavaca is a city with great weather all year, and the main activities always occur in the outside. Nevertheless, the sun could be a problem in the afternoon. Therefore, we constructed this house in two main volumes.
