Dalian Yifang FC Football-Soccer Academy in China by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos

Monday, July 8th, 2019

Article source: Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos

The purpose, from the beginning, has been to integrate the playing fields, its lighting towers and all the buildings of the training center, creating this way a sequenced and recognizable set that, incorporating all these elements, is able to generate a new harmonious, exact and integrated landscape.

We are not in favor of opting for a solution by accumulation, in which the aforementioned elements find a relative position more or less ordered or hazardous and avoiding the simple juxtaposition of independent elements, that is one of our first purposes. Our proposal aims to provide unity of landscape and geometric coherence to the whole. The large platform is composed by eighteen regular-size football fields, two eleven-a-side fields and a 650 meter wide porch covering the six buildings, which give the desired coherence and landscape unity to the whole. Furthermore, the addition of buildings and the defined entrances gives it a certain independence and possibility of growth.

Se7en in Dalian, China by Robot 3

Monday, February 25th, 2019

Article source: Robot 3

Music is the most direct form of art.

Space also has a narrative rhythm, and music is leading this rhythm. The exciting point of creation is the seventh symphony in A major. It is powerful and strikes the soul.

There are four parts to combine this space: the wall, the arch, the sloping house, and the long desk.

Dalian International Conference Center in China by COOP HIMMELB(L)AU

Friday, September 13th, 2013

Article source: COOP HIMMELB(L)AU

The building has both to reflect the promising modern future of Dalian and its tradition as an important port, trade, industry and tourism city. The formal language of the project combines and merges the rational structure and organization of its modern conference center typology with the floating spaces of modernist architecture.

The everyday experience of the users is critically important for the hospital typology.  Our proposal for a Jinzhou New Area Medical Center is located as closest as possible to the existing wing of the hospital in order to shorten the routes and form one integrated complex with that existing wing.

Goldstone winery in Dalian, China by OSO Studio LTD

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Article source: OSO Studio LTD

The project is located at a mountain land of grape valley, the outskirts of the Dalian city, near the goldstone beach.  The natural beauty of the site is the most important condition; any given architectural style is incommensurate to the surrounding, and leave the building contextual barren.  We developed a set of diagram to define the building within the intersection of natural context and architectural typological context and hope the building emerges from this process.

Seven Chambers in Dalian, China by Cheungvogl

Monday, February 21st, 2011

As time defines history and events turn into memories, time itself again stands in the way to recall both as the constantly changing subjectiveness of presence determines the perspective of view onto the past.

The seven chambers are designed to cut the visitor, the exhibited art of the private collection and the occasional cultural and communal events out of the context of the presence to create a moment of individual reception, reflection and interaction with the long lasting history of China without any influence of singular materiality of temporary circumstances, creating the opportunity of a silent encounter with various objects and art pieces, documenting the long way of thousands years of Chinese history, leading to the day, which is today.
