CHAMELEON HOUSE in Czech Republic, Europe by Petr Hajek Architekti

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

Article source: Petr Hajek Architekti

The house is located in the centre of a garden. Each single room is oriented to one of the  trees. The living room faces the apple tree, the master bedroom, the cherry tree, the bathroom faces the peach tree, the guest room, the silver spruce and the children’s room,  the walnut.  Each room has its unique view and atmosphere.  The building is resting like a lizard in a sun-lit meadow. The inspiration for the proposal of this house is in fact a chameleon. Eyes (windows) unrestrictedly observe the surroundings. The skin (facade), consisting of a semi-gloss coat, partly reflects the colours of the garden and the sky.

Physalia, A Positive Energy Amphibious Garden to Clean European Waterways in Europe by Vincent Callebaut Architectures

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

More than one billion of people do not have any access to drinking water. Three thousands of people die everyday from having consumed polluted water. The water is thus not a good. It should belong to everybody. Many non governmental organisations as well as the PNUD (Programme of the United Nations for the Development) fight for the idea that water is a “common good”. It must be highly considered and be part of a different management that is not commercial, connecting public and private organisms not only in national and regional frameworks but also on the worldwide scale inside UN or a new specialised “ad hoc” institution.
