JO&JOE Paris Gentilly is the second JO&JOE open house from PENSON’s portfolio and is the world’s first BBCA low-carbon hotel. It is a place that brings genuine experiences to its guests – so much so the hotel was fully booked on its first opening month in April 2019.
Thought as the continuity of the “chaperon vert” quarter in Gentilly on the outskirts of Paris this housing project brings the right proportion of green and built spaces in a direct dialog with the neighboring buildings. The project prioritizes pedestrian use and sustainable transportations (Bikes, seaways, pedestrians, etc…) in continuity with the “aqueduc de la vanne” pedestrian walkway that goes through the city of Gentilly.
Both buildings are generously opened toward the collective garden through loggias, terraces and decks. All the facades have the same designing concept excluding any less qualitative “Rear Façade”. The rounded corners offer great fluidity between the four facades, in the end we can say that this building has only one long unrolled façade.
The Residence de l’Aqueduc is located in the ZAC Lenine in Gentilly (France) at the articulation of the central mall Lenine and the future Promenade des Aqueducs. The building, located at this strategic angle, affirms its slender and extroverted facade facing this exceptional landscape crossing.
Located as it is in Gentilly in the vicinity of Paris, on rue Raymond Lefebvre where rows of houses go almost uninterrupted, this little detached house stands out.
The interval separating it from the next building allows for a nice view on the Bièvre valley and its towers, providing a frontal framing for this fragmented cityscape, thus creating an unexpected confrontation in this quiet, almost rural suburban atmosphere.
