A simple with öko skin boards paneled building is punctuated by bold green areas. Floor to ceiling glazing combine indoor and outdoor space in one continuum. From the classrooms you step directly on the tree-covered play area.
The daycare Nils Holgersson was built in 2000 and forms the structural completion of the pavilion ensemble of Nill Holgerson day-care center. Currently three school groups with children of primary school age, a group “Supervised primary school” and two kindergarten groups are housed in the facility.

The new museum building at Friedrichsplatz in Mannheim links up with the historic Art Nouveau building and has been designed as “city in the city”. Within a simple overall structure, individual units have been arranged in an inspiring composition to provide exhibition space and rooms for supporting functions. They enclose a central atrium and are linked via galleries, terraces and bridges. In analogy to the elements that make up urban environments – buildings, blocks, streets and squares – the architects have created varied circular routes through enclosed and open spaces with changing vistas and outlooks. As in the layout of the city of Mannheim with its “street squares”, the clear overruling structure makes orientation easy; at the same time, each situation conveys new impressions – just as the city’s diversity of the architecture, changes in the building lines, recesses and empty plots ensure that no space is identical to another.

This award-winning family home is situated close to Strasbourg, in a village famous for its cherry trees and cherry schnapps. Presented with a naturally beautiful site, and constrained by a modest budget, we resolved to design a building that engaged with its natural environment. The house is highly methodical in its plan, and dramatically augmented by the selective framing of views.
In harmony with nature, the family Longen cultivates the slopes of a Moselle Valley and can look back on a long tradition of generations.
Now they offer an idyll: an orchard – surrounded by orchards. On their property of 6.500 sqm the family provides its guests the most primary way of living that permits to enjoy the structures of a wine and fruit production, the setting of a village and to experience a life in harmony with nature.
Westgarten 02, a residential block of high-end rental apartments, was built on the last remaining gap in development in Frankfurt´s Westhafen district. In terms of its language of forms, the design was guided by its immediate neighbour, “Westgarten 01”, a mixed residential and retail block. Light-coloured clinker cladding emphasises the ground floor zone, optically dividing private from public space. Continuous cornices and projecting render detail on the parapets emphasise the horizontal articulation of the façade. Contrasting with its adjacent building, Westgarten 02 features light-grey render and a symmetrical façade design with a receding central zone. A sculptural note is added by the two-storey penthouse floor with large roof terraces. The internal arrangement of the apartments – three apartments per floor, accessed via stairwells at either end of the building – is legible in the design of the façade. Each apartment has a loggia overlooking the street and a balcony facing the inner courtyard. In total 39 apartments were created here.
The new building is located North of Peter Kulka’s 1976 planned University complex, one of the biggest University buildings in Europe. Small-scale housing and single and double family houses characterise the surroundings.
The urban concept highlights the dialogue to the existing University and is defined both by a clear volume and clearly landscaped green spaces.
The location on a steep south-facing slope required an access to the house from the public road running below to the site situated about 12 metres higher. These conditions inspired the idea of embedding a mountain pass road into the site, which serves both as a drive and a footpath.

NE—AR in collaboration with studioheyhey have completed the construction of the fair stand at the Brau Beviale 2015 in Nürnberg, for Kaspar Schulz. Brauereimaschinenfabrik & Apparatebauanstalt e.K.
The main concept was to focus on the high quality of the pressure and beer tanks from Kaspar Schulz. In this manner, the tanks are featured by designing an integrated and atmospheric background to them using haptic materials.
The most state-of-the-art natural gas power plant in the world has recently been completed on Lausward in Düsseldorf’s harbour. It has been supplying the city with climate-friendly electricity and district heat since the beginning of 2016, and is therefore making a considerable contribution towards a more secure energy supply within the city and region. The new natural gas power plant is an important milestone on the way to a carbon-neutral city, which the state capital is striving to achieve by 2050.
