Sports and leisure pool complex in Brauhausberg, Potsdam, Germany by gmp

Monday, January 11th, 2016

Article source: gmp

The new development is located in a central position at the foot of the Brauhausberg, a traditional leisure andb day-trip destination, and the established location of the city’s largest swimming pool complex. As a multifunctional building for all activities involving water, the new pool complex offers significantly more facilities compared to the popular but outdated existing facility built during GDR times. The public municipal baths are expected to draw increasing numbers of visitors and, on that basis, occupy a key position for preserving the special qualities of this part of the city, which – in the wake of numerous new construction projects – is experiencing a revival.

Zalando Headquarters in Berlin, Germany by HENN

Wednesday, December 16th, 2015

Article source: HENN

The new Zalando Headquarters’ a duo of buildings designed to form the heart of the corporate campus at the new site in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The project’s two seven-storey buildings provide some 42,000 m² of office space. Up to 2,700 employees will work here for Europe’s largest online supplier of shoes and fashion goods.

The plan layout rotates the building grid diagonally to the development plan thus placing the internal courtyards at the outer edges of the plot. This opening creates transitions between office and public space. Further views into and out of the building are ensured by transparent and translucent façades that express the diversity of the company to the world outside.
