The concept of SUPERMARKET which won several designa wareds opened his first concept store in Belgrade. Since 2014 it is also located in Berlin. The historically protected BIKINI HAUS, built in 1957 by Paul Schwe be sand Hans Schosz berger received a renovation in 2013 and was provided with an unique concept. The 7,000 square meter roof terrace with the view to the Berlin Zoo is the high light of the complex and the home of SUPERMARKET Berlin. SUPERMARKET Berlin sees it self as a project space which is comprised of different functional are a sover 800 sqm. The large and open space is divided by the 25 meterlong bar which already starts in the entrance are a and extends through out the whole room. The bar is further segmented in to three themes. The Coffeé, Juice andliquor/wine bar. The furniture canbe move dandad justed easily which allows high flexibility. Materials such as steel and wood under line the industrial character of the large and open space. The colorful furniture and floral fabrics give the space a funky, humorousand relaxed impression.
The ‘Quarter of Nations‘ in Hamburg’s Wilhelmsburg district was created in connection with the IBA 2013 – a model intercultural housing project intended to house more than 1,700 inhabitants originating from 30 different nations. Gerber Architekten extended a traditional workers’ housing development with two new buildings that respond to the most fundamental elements of the existing architecture and reinterpret them by incorporating sculptural head-end volumes, whilst simultaneously reconciling them with the high energy efficiency requirements of a passive building. There are a total of 75 publicly-funded housing units, of different sizes and offering different forms of accommodation; they combine accommodation types suitable for single persons, couples and families, thereby ensuring an appropriately-mixed social profile for the ‘Quarter of Nations‘.
The eight story IZB Residence creates a significant center of Campus Martinsried with its organic shapes and becomes a distinctive landmark by its unique architectural language.
“It was our aspiration to generate tension between organic, floating shapes and dynamic flow architectural language. At the same time a certain degree of harmony and well-being”, explains Jürgen Stark.
The design brief for this Berlin flat renovation, in the district of Moabit, not only included the challenge of sensitively updating an Altbau (early 1900’s), but included the added element of its charming small size – measuring just 21sqm.
Like many buildings of its era, the original layout of the flat had been two very small but separate rooms, presumably one of them being a kitchen, with a shared toilet located in an outbuilding downstairs. In an effort to modernise the flat a previous owner had substituted the former kitchen with a more convenient private bathroom. This had the added effect of unbalancing the overall proportions of living/sleeping/cooking/washing space in the flat.

Design concept
The project was gained through a competition won in 2010. The task was to design a kindergarten for eight groups of children with a multipurpose hall, a dining hall and a staff room.
The polygonal shape of the area available for construction and the idea behind the design of putting the various rooms in separate buildings, creating a kind of “children’s village”, led to the star-shaped design of the facility, and to the placement of the different age-groups into individual and structurally separated buildings. Each unit – crèche, kindergarten, day-care centre, utility and staff – is given its own building. They are connected with each other by means of a central all-purpose hall, which we called the “Piazza”, and which is the heart of the child-care facility. What results is a subdivided pavilion in the midst of a treed park. Stations for play and educational purposes are distributed around the remaining garden.

After a preceding VOF procedure in 2011, kister scheithauer gross (ksg) implemented the new ‘Chemiepraktikum’ building for RWTH Aachen. The client is ‘Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW’. The monolithic building functions as a cornerstone of the existing development and is thus decisively contributing to the formation of a ‘prestigious address’ of the Chemical Institute. Laboratory areas of about 1,500 m² have been provided on a gross floor area of 3,720 m². Since April 1, students at the Institutes of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry of RWTH Aachen can now carry out research and experiments at 160 state-of-the-art fume cupboards.
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s IC-Complex has undergone a two-year process of refurbishment, and is now a state-of-the-art research building. This complex of buildings now provides a space where around 5,000 students and scientists can study and research in a harmonious architectural environment that is technologically equipped to a high standard, and is ideally suited to its function.
House W is a detached dacha for a German-Russian family of musicians.
Located 75 km north of Berlin in the beautiful countryside of Brandenburg, it is surrounded by lakes and forests. On a large 6,500 m2 site, a one storey wooden cabin has been constructed with a spacious living, dining and kitchen area.
The wooden cube, reduced to the necessaries, should be a positive example for agricultural buildings integrating the free landscape around it. With its archaic appearance, the small, flat-roofed shed is built on a site beside a grove of trees near the miniature goats’ grazing pastures in Upper Palatinate, a region in eastern Bavaria.
