Article source: Egue and Seta

Her “little apartment” in Barcelona may not have been short of meters, charm, views or location, but look where she always thought that she was limping on something. He told her that “you cannot have everything” and she repeated that it was not so much that she wanted to have everything but a simple need to give a name to what she was missing.

House in The Lake, Spain by FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

Wednesday, November 21st, 2018

Article source: FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

Located in the PGA golf course, in Girona, the house seeks the best views over the place where it is set. The project is solved by means of two extruded spaces, two overlapping volumes, in which the upper one moves towards the lake in front, giving as a result a cantilever that aims to generate a great shaded terrace. Two elements that define a single project, in which we appreciate facades of great dynamism generated by different openings in them, that allow for a comfortable reading of the building.

The goal was to create a warm, modern concept with its own personality, for a restaurant placed in a shopping centre.

A Buried Concrete Structure For A Winery in Girona, Spain by Víctor Rahola Arquitecte

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

Article source: Víctor Rahola Arquitecte

The winery program is the result of the need to produce wine and organize a relationship with the existing land house. There are four main spaces for the wine production with three more areas between them. These three are service spaces with all the facilities and storage. The first main space in the right, next to the laboratories and freezers, is the one for all the farming instruments and tools for the vineyards. The second one is for all the vats needed for the “mosto wine” production. The third one is for those vats and bottles that are resting. The last one, and forth, is the area for tastings, enjoyment and storage of the bottles that are ready to be open. The access through a tunnel from the upper side of the house serves as organizer for the circulation of the owners. The three remaining service areas are accessed directly from the vineyards.

MMMMMS House in Girona, Spain by Anna & Eugeni Bach

Wednesday, December 27th, 2017

Article source: Anna & Eugeni Bach

The MMMMMS house is placed at the outskirts of Camallera, in a recent development area facing the village. Due to the location, the house is openly visible from the village.

The local building regulations are straightforward, specifying mere general characteristics for the new houses, such as stone cladding, or sloped roofs with “arab” tiles. The main aim of these regulations is to lead new buildings to look like old rural houses, the so called Catalan “masias”.

14.05-VCE- 3PATIO HOUSE in Girona, Spain by Lagula Arquitectes

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

Article source: Lagula Arquitectes

Classical palatial buildings and old industrial spaces, such as the medieval dockyards, both share (at least) three conditions. First of all, the space is continuous and flows from room to room. Secondly, the structural vanes are equivalent, regular and adaptable. And finally, the volume of the series of spaces is not only related to the room size, but also to the holistic interpretation of the building. Of course, other obvious features differentiate these two typologies.
