NEW FIRE STATION in Gubbio, Italy by Menichetti+Caldarelli

The new operational barracks of the Fire Department of Gubbio is the result of a competition won in 2010 .Private initiative provided for the possibility of hosting leased passive body of firefighters .The building is the completion of an old structure not completed .The purpose of the project was to complete and expand the existing structure already partially buffered .The operation after the structural concrete infill continued dry slabs of concrete .The expanded volume is configured with rational aspect and serial interrupted by the volume scale , crown – wall aluminum sheet , painted red . On the ground floor workshop and garage vehicles will be covered and enclosed by glass industrial U -Glass , which will lighten the base and illuminate an evenly filtered space . In the square will place the castle of exercises with climbing wall.
