T4 HOUSE is a house located in the same massively constructed villas with the typical design. But to the landlord it’s a “timeline” with many ups and downs after more than a decade living there.
When they moved to a new house, instead of selling this house, they decided to renovate it for rent. This was a way to help this house both have people living and be operated to keep it from degrading, but to them (the landlord) it’s kept as a memory.
This house is built on a bad land shape which is separated from the narrowest part of a large land. It has ugly shape and is most cramped. In suburban, people often build houses on very large land plots, therefore, the small area (in comparison with the land in this area) is paid less attention to build a house.
This project is an extension for KIMONO, a Japanese restaurant located in the center of Hanoi, Viet Nam. The extension is the fifth and sixth floor of the existing restaurant. These additional floors supply private dining rooms for guests.

The house has a standard size of 12.5m x 5.5m for the construction area, with spacious front yard, airy backyard and is located at the southern gateway of Hanoi, inside the beautiful compound of the new residential precinct of Gamuda Gardens.
This space was originally an above part of the bedroom (at the 3rd floor) of the old mansion which is set up many technical systems (electric system, water system, and air-conditioner), and this part is quite high. We have added one more floor in order to divide its height into two parts with the aim of creating to an additional floor (meanwhile, the underneath bedroom is still assured its height) for the purpose of the warehouse.
In Vietnam, the natural phenomena are severe and various: storm, flood, sweeping floods, landslides, drouhgt, etc… The damage every year, which is considerable compared to the world scale, takes away about 500 persons and 1.2%-GDP-equally assets and reduces the involved areas’ development.
