An unsophisticated scene is needed to stage a gentle encounter. How to paddle a mood to allow you to feel shuttle-like light and shadow? How to weave a wave of forest to allow you to purposely sway with wind? How to brush the outline of water expressions to allow you to experience the lingering breath freely, as ripples but indescribable.

Choosing a suitable office is the first challenge that many entrepreneurial firms may come up with. Usually a micro entrepreneurial firm needs flexible space to accommodate uncertain staff. On one hand, renting a large office space in one step will tremendously add the newly established firms’ financial burden; On the other hand, if the company rents a relatively small office space, it may turn out to be too crowed when the company grows. What’s worse, there may be no space for meeting room, reception room and some other programs. What exactly should the entrepreneurs do to find their office ?
The interior space of Hangzhou V+ Lounge, which serves as the famous brand’s third branch in China after Beijing and Chengdu, is designed together by Studio Waffles and LYCS Architecture. The project is located at the southwest corner of the crossroad of Dongpo Rd. and Pinghai Rd, which is also the most flourishing commercial zone nearby West Lake. Meanwhile, the site is less than one hundred meters away from the largest flagship store of Apple in Asia.It is this unique location of the project that initiated the inspiration of translating the water of West lake into a design concept. Curves, mirrors and different lights are adopted to support this concept, thus integrating diverse sensory experiences of underwater, water surface as well as over-water as a whole interior space.
The folk art museum stands in the campus of China Academy of Arts in Hangzhou. The site was formerly a tea field that formed a hillside. Our point was to design a museum from which the ground below can be felt, by continuing the building’s floors that follow the ups and downs of the slope. Planning is based on geometric division in the units of parallelogram to deal with the intricate topography. Each unit has a small individual roof, so the outlook became like a village that evokes a view of extending tiled roofs.
Two adjacent spaces are conjoined by a banal harsh white mall space. Hundreds of fibre glass sheets hang delicately over head – effusing a soft milky light that unites the otherwise disparate spaces.

Situated in the famed resort area of Moganshan, the Gowin Golf Manor serves as a clubhouse for golfers, but also offers a small number of guest rooms to house overnight visitors. The rooms overlook the golf course and are lifted slightly, and held to one side of a central atrium while the public functions are grouped on the other side. The disparate functions of the clubhouse are distinguished by a unique set of materials including zinc, stone, and glass; together they create a multi-storey space pierced by angled ramps and sky bridges.
Located near the wetlands west of central Hangzhou, the Xixi Artists’ Club is laid out like a village with five units. Each cluster relies on three Y-shaped volumes in two sizes, capped with six- and three-metre-square frameless windows, creating panoramas of the surrounding landscape. Twisting fiberglass installations work with the cubic structure to redefine internal spaces and join walls, floors, and ceilings together.
