The location of site with its magnificent views of the Udaigiri hills & the mighty Brahamaputra river has played a major role in the designing of this house. The site is contoured, with the top most level perched upto the height of 7m from the approach road level. This height facilitated an unobstructed view of the river on the NW & the hills on the SE side. The land cutting for the ramp, servant’s quarter & the party hall has been used to fill the steep slope on the NW side resulting to a step terrace. This terrace is used by the lady of the house to enjoy her hobby of gardening. A cantilever deck juts out over this terrace. This deck is part of the outdoor space of the party hall that was carved out below the main house. The main bungalow is positioned on the flat portion of the topmost level of the contour.
The inimitable part of designing this residence is the remodelling of existing layout resulting in a better layout with the optimum use of the carpet area. one enters the sprawling living room of the house opening up to the continuous balcony all around the house. a bright yellow jali couch, a large clock on the wall, a custom designed 5′ long crystal chandelier work as accent features. the colour palette is subtle with splashes of bright colours making the house vibrant. the 11′ high ceiling adds to the spaciousness of the house. the main objective of the design was to create a modern, humanist, comfortable house for the young family. this interior, works around the spirit of the dwellers in conjunction with the balance of styles, materials, textures, colours, contributing to the presence and the character of the space, transforming it into the simple & uncluttered core of the design.

• William McDonough + Partners (WM+P) was engaged by Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles, to design three projects: A motorcycle assembly plant in Neemrana, completed in October 2014; the Global Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT), which opened in March 2016; and a newly operational assembly plant in Halol, Gujarat.
The perception of a beauty parlour, a salon or a bridal studio has changed over a period of time. Typical layouts or designs are stories of the past. When we were assigned to design a women’s beauty parlour and bridal studio, we decided to give a different experience to the clients who step in. The site was located on the ground floor among a row of small shops. It was a long and narrow rectangular space of about 330sqft.
HKS house is located uphill in a quiet residential neighborhood in Visakhapatnam. The owners wanted a home with clearly delineated private spaces for the family, and a separate block to host guests and events. The building is therefore conceived as two programmed volumes held together by a bridge-corridor, landscaped courts, and shaded terraces.
From the architect. Set in a semi urbanised strip that border a busy road in the otherwise sleepy suburb of Tirur,‘The Floating Parasol House’ sits on a linear plot with its shorter side abutting the street. Built for a privacy conscious family, the house was tucked towards the rear to accommodate a garden in the front, enclosed by means of a secondary landscape wall, that shield the house from the cacophony of the vehicular traffic and the commotions on the street.
Alibagh, often referred to as the Hamptons of Mumbai, is the location of choice for the Second Homes of Mumba is many. It is here, within the hilly village of Katalpada set amidst an exceptionally beautiful context of rolling undulated landscape, boasting of instagrammable views and surrounded by several picturesque hills, earmarked to be forest lands, does Aurelia find itself situated.
The development of various public transport modes in the metropolitan city of Delhi like railway line, Delhi metro, bus stops and auto-rickshaw stands has increased the number of pedestrians on the roads. Due to no proper walking space for the pedestrians on most of the major road junctions in the city, the intersection of the vehicular traffic with the pedestrians causes a call for alarm towards the safety of the people.
Is there an eco-friendly approach to address this problem without further compromising the safety of pedestrians and also help in revitalizing the city?

They need a mix of functionality and flexibility. The shift in work culture has created a wave of co-working spaces catering to individuals and teams, with spaces for work and play.
1. Traditional Stone with Lime mortar construction- Buildings made of stone and lime gain strength over years and can stand for centuries. Hence conventional methods of preparing lime mortar with local ingredients were employed. Local karigars (craftsmen) worked on the project.
2. Barn Style Architecture- Barn building style is merged with traditional Rajasthani architecture to suit hot and dry climate. This style is chosen as the client is British national.
