The Greater Lafayette Indiana Career Academy is a new high school that serves the County’s three school corporations. Students enroll at the Career Academy for hands-on training in simulated workspaces to prepare for technical and trade professions. The facility alleviates enrollment pressure on local schools and provides skilled graduates who can enter the workforce in response to regional growth.
Copperwood broke ground in fall 2015 for the family of four seeking an energy efficient, modest, modern dwelling. The site’s name, originated by the Owner’s son, was inspired by the color of the surrounding woods and landscape; an untouched natural site adjacent to farmland and bustling with wildlife, but itself not ideal for agriculture. Ultimately, the design solution was a balance of the unique site opportunities paired with the Owner’s simple lifestyle needs and love of travel.
This couple purchased a second home as a respite from city living. Living primarily in downtown Chicago the couple desired a place to connect with nature. The home is located on 80 acres and is situated far back on a wooded lot with a pond, pool and a detached rec room. The home includes four bedrooms and one bunkroom along with five full baths.
PROJECTiONE was commissioned to complete two projects for the Evansville Museum of Arts History and Science as part of an expansion project that included a new entrance pavilion. Cladding for the Immersive Theater was designed to exist as a natural, organic component encased in a clean white modern box. By using six species of wood veneer, a pixelated gradient is created that moves up through the dome from dark to light.
The Underwood Pavilion was featured by The Star Press as Indiana’s new art destination. The traveling pavilion celebrates the qualities and potentials of Indiana’s post-industrial landscape through attracting people to places that are currently not considered public space. The pavilion is the outcome of the Digital Design Build Studio, directed by Gernot Riether and Andrew Wit, both professors at Ball State University. At the time it is located close to Muncie, a 70,000 inhabitants city in central Indiana.

The Ruth Lilly Visitors Pavilion is the result of a studied relationship between building, land and art, and serves as both a threshold to and a destination within the 100 Acres Art & Nature Park at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
RNL, in association with Forum Architects of South Bend, Indiana and Maintenance Design Group (MDG), was selected to design South Bend Public Transportation Corporation’s (TRANSPO) Emil “Lucky” Reznik Administration, Maintenance & Operations Facility. Incorporating sustainable design and construction strategies for energy efficient building systems, the facility creates a healthy work environment for employees and visitors. The project is certified as LEED-NC Platinum by the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
