The two-level house is situated at the center of the lot, in a manner that each level enjoys a spacious yard. A decorative pool reveals a waterfall facade towards the entrance of the lot and is surrounded by an access ramp leading to the upper level of the house. The house entrance experience is accompanied by the murmur of water and the shadows of a Weeping Willow tree growing up from the pool. The entrance outdoor foyer functions as a front porch that overlooks the front garden and towards a patio that connects between both levels of the house and allows views between its various parts. An impressive staircase made of iron and wood is situated alongside the patio.
Four master bedrooms are located on the upper level of the house. Each two bedrooms have a private foyer separated by a frosted glazed acid glass sliding door. At the center of the floor a family seating area enjoys a balcony overlooking the backyard and the pool at the lower level.

The initial concept of the project was born from the research of what is Israeli “Locality”. Taking into consideration that the company shifted from sitting in cubicles to sitting in a semi open-space, this created the perfect basis to the concept. We researched the term “neighborhood” in terms of space, and in terms of the local population. We asked questions such as “what is eating in a neighborhood?” “what is it like working in a neighborhood?” “what is it like socializing in a neighborhood?” and etc. in addition, the client gave us a brief which spoke the love and appreciation for recycled, re-used, local materials.
A Tel Aviv loft apartment located in the iconic Zamenhof Clinic building, whose unfussy Bauhaus style has been preserved in the building’s 21st century transformation into a luxurious residential complex.
The House features spectacular architecture through balanced touches of concrete, wood, black and white which seamlessly lace from the exterior to the interior of the house in all their glory. From the outside, the building looks like a singular house, but the inside tells a different story: two brothers, two separate programs and two houses living side by side, with a common wall separating them, which is in fact the only architectural element they have in common. The initial design of this house was done by architect Eyal Apple and continued by architect Raz Melamed in coordination with the building engineer.
Architect Raz Melamed, presenting an architectural mass of two asymmetrical blocks in size, color and shape. The white wall that surrounds the house creates a separation from the street through a niche isolated entrance that creates privacy for residents and visitors. Through the gate entrance, a game of colorful architecture is played out between the blocks of the building, with a gray foreground and white background. The division of masses is decorative as well as functional, including a seam-like staircase used to bring in natural light. The constructive pillars represent another architectural game, whose role is dual in both structural engineering and decoration – exposing the interior and exterior and form the basis of architectural and decorative language. Beside them are black painted horizontal rails which create a harmonious complex of material in opposite directions. The use of black aluminum continues the architect’s constructional vision: maintaining minimal colors and materials.

The story behind the design of MOVIELAND is a tribute to the older days of the cinema world. The complex includes 11 movie theaters, among them some rich VIP halls. We chose strong elements and humanity values for the design, and special nostalgic look, which usually aren’t found in large commercial movie theaters. The whole complex gives the feeling of Deja Vu to the dazzling world of 1920’s Hollywood, with the elegance and luxury of the magnificent theaters in Europe of the same period, the golden age of world cinema.
