Intended to house production and executive areas – offices, creative ateliers, test rooms and a part of production – the new building acts as a hinge between pre-existing buildings.

The refurbishment project transforms the existing building in a holiday home for a family that love mountains. The recovery of this building called tabià (once used as stable and barn) becomes an opportunity for reinventing, in a contemporary way, a building strongly linked to local agricultural tradition. Inserted in a sloping plot, in second lane with respect to the roadside and the buildings facing it, the tabià develops into 3 levels: one partially underground with a mixed structure in stone and concrete; an intermediate one with a structure in wooden pillars and beams, where there is also the main entrance; and an attic projecting cantilevered on all four sides. In order to respect the character of the property, a clean and contemporary approach was taken to the renovation: in line with the desire to maintain the fragile balance and the coherence between the vernacular tradition and the contemporary character, details have been reworked which tend to give a more abstract and neutral character of the whole.
A room overlooking the town square, that’s totally redesigned by the creative studio Visual Display [interior, identity, stories] to transform the previous tavern into the new entrance of the 2 Michelin stars restaurant “Agli Amici 1887” in Udine.
The space turns into a place to enjoy a welcome aperitif, fully becoming part of the proposed gastronomic experience, indeed anticipating it. The concept was therefore born with the idea of making this space – which is in fact the customer’s first approach to the kitchen and the philosophy of chef Emanuele Scarello – a place suspended in time, silent, surprising, and representative of the very essence of the restaurant.

Villa DLM is part of a small site in a residential neighbourhood. It is a rational and introverted house, whose apparent privacy dissolves in the internal courtyard towards the garden.
The project idea is the composition of three simple volumes, which modulates the spaces of domestic life and establishes direct connections between the parts. Two parallelepipeds are arranged perpendicular to each other to form an L open towards the garden, the third stands on top of the previous ones maintaining its formal autonomy.
The building brings together the three brands of the company Manifattura Valcismon S.p.A. – Sportful, Castelli, Karpos – in a single commercial space of 1,500 square meters of covered area located a few steps from the group’s historical headquarters.
The building is spread over an area of 8,700 square meters on a single above-ground level with an irregularly shaped floor plan, where a secondary volume is grafted to the main building. The main volume is articulated in six irregular pitches with different slopes and inclinations intended to recall the skyline of the surrounding pre-Alpine peaks while the secondary volume, of more modest impact, is concluded by a flat roof.
