P17 Housing in Milan, Italy by Modourbano Architectural Design

Monday, December 3rd, 2018

Article source: Modourbano Architectural Design

Located in the heart of Milan, within the Monumentale area, the building shows an innovative approach in addressing metropolitan residential issues. The project aims at interacting with a broader spatial and cultural context, embracing the residential Milanese tradition of XX Century, with its contemporary urban interventions. This “Milan Style”, that spanned mostly between the aftermath of World War II and the economic boom of the Sixties, is represented through several buildings designed by architects such as Gio Ponti and Luigi Caccia Dominioni.

The Ceresio Valley is, from the environmental point of view, beautiful and rich in vegetation. The house is situated on a slope with the best exposure and opens up the sun and the landscape, making it enter through large windows.

House NM rises on the sunny side of Ceresio Valley, opening itself to the landscape and letting natural light come in through large windows.

San giobbe +160 in Italy by act_romegialli

Thursday, November 29th, 2018

Article source: act_romegialli

The internal restoration at San Giobbe “fondamenta” in Venice involves a small residential space on the ground floor. A small area of 40 square metres once used as a workshop then converted to a temporary housing.

The restoration of this space involved the reorganisation of the internal partitions and furnishing. It also eliminated water penetration and dampness as well as protection against periodic ”acqua alta” ( high tide) using technical elements. Hydraulic engineering and technical infrastructure were used as the starting point to solve the overall reconfiguration of the internal architectural design solution.

Gloriette in Ritten, Italy by NOA* – NETWORK OF ARCHITECTURE

Gloriette Guesthouse: A travel through time

Gloriette Guesthouse by noa * builds on the tradition of summer holidays at Ritten and adds another link to the chain. On the Bozner’s favourite mountain, a house was created, in which city and country merge together.

The former small hotel business Bergfink, which was an anchor point in the village structure and nestled amidst the rural-urban structure with all its bourgeois domiciles, built by wealthy Bolzano merchants around the turn of the century, was demolished and a new jewel was created in its place. As the name suggests, it is a gem in the landscape, inspired by the architectural typology in timelessly, elegant Art Nouveau. With the feeling of an era in which, – not at all pompous – the architecture of the city in a simplified form and without giving up completely on luxury and comfort on the Ritten transposed – generous, classic, simple, but not sober.

House D in Kaltern, Italy by feld72

Tuesday, November 13th, 2018

Article source: feld72

In close proximity to the parental house and right next to the sister’s home, the younger brother also wanted to fulfill the dream of building his own four walls. In the end, however, a whole lot more than just four walls developed.

feld72 had already realised designs for the two sisters, thereby having earned the full trust of the client and his family. Through their courage, it was possible to realise a most unusual concept that, despite the small size of the plot, met the task with an idea as unconventional as it was effective.

Delvaux Milano in Italy by VUDAFIERI SAVERINO PARTNERS

Tuesday, November 6th, 2018

Article source: VUDAFIERI SAVERINO PARTNERS

Belgium and Italy, two traditions of savoir-faire, creative flair and innovation come together in Delvaux’s new Milan boutique. The oldest fine leather luxury goods Maison in the world has chosen the Capital of Fashion for its first Italian opening, with a jewel of a boutique, located in via Bagutta 12, in the heart of the Fashion Quarter.

The project is designed by Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, Milanese Studio which since 2012 has been taking care of the Delvaux boutiques’ design worldwide (more than 40, among which the last openings in London and Hong Kong). The concept uses the language of interior decoration to tell the brand history with a narrative capacity which interprets the context, the characteristics and culture of each city. Each address corresponds to a unique boutique, in which the Delvaux universe gives life to an intimate, personal dialogue between the Maison’s creations and the stupendous museum-like quality decorative works of art.

Primary School in Loiano, Italy by Studio Contini

Monday, November 5th, 2018

Article source: Studio Contini

The new primary school in Loiano was completed and tested in 12 months in respect of the times and amounts of contract and without reservation by the enterprise and public administration.

As an established tradition of the study, the search for a harmonious relationship with the geographical context and the well-being of future users drove the design and subsequent implementation.

The volumes of the school building, located in an area of scenic interest at the Bologna Apennines, were partly buried to limit the visual impact upstream, thus to obtain two distinct levels for classes and workshops, both with free rein to the spacious green areas.

Reading Room in Biella, Italy by MATTIA PACO RIZZI

Sunday, October 28th, 2018

Article source: MATTIA PACO RIZZI

The reading room is a space created for the public and the residents. Designed by the architect and artist Mattia Paco Rizzi, using autochthonous materials like wood, glass and stone together with materials collected from the industrial waste of Pistoletto Fondation-Cittadellarte, the installation works as a membrane between the path of the exhibition and the workspaces of the residents. It’s multipurpose flexibility allows to pass through it, remain inside or stay close to it and engage in a collective conversation. The reading room collects two types of materials. One part of the selection contains books on theory, history and critique of education, radical pedagogy, the political use of performance and politics of affinities.

Comerio in Italy by OASI Architects

Wednesday, October 24th, 2018

Article source: OASI Architects

A land, a small terraced house from the 70s. Potential.

A naturalistic context, next to the lake. Evocative.

Two young parents and their kids. Ambitious and friendly.

The project is about a new distribution of the living spaces of a small house on the hillside near the Varese lake, in a town called Comerio.

The simple volume of the kitchen defines the whole space and becomes its main and most privileged element.
