A “container” that changes as you design and live in it, and design it, on top of the challenge of living in such a house must continue to give you the pleasure of living there. Clothes, kitchen goods and other things related to their hobbies can be freely placed, and their living space can be filled with things that promote enjoyment and happiness in their lives.

During the design stage, a new addition to their family arrived to add to the enjoyment of their home.

F Residence in Japan by GOSIZE Co., Ltd.

Monday, August 12th, 2019

Article source: GOSIZE Co., Ltd.

This is the combined residence and office of the project’s architect. Located in a beautiful natural setting selected as one of Japan’s top one hundred sited for viewing cherry blossoms, the building’s exterior features a natural stone base intended to blend in with the environment.

Seeking to reflect a distinctive Japanese aesthetic that favors natural materials and finds beauty in simplicity, the design emphasizes plainness and blank spaces in the interior. Because the boundary between these interior spaces and the outside world is ambiguous, a wealth of connections and depths arise, resulting in a high-quality living and working environment that leaves lingering impressions.

Friday, August 9th, 2019

Article source: ICADA

The House is located in a coastal town in Hiroshima, Japan, surrounded by beautiful ocean and mountains. The client, who is a painter, and his wife wanted a timber annex beside their concrete house. The required functions to this annex are almost like a house; extra living room, kitchen, bathroom, small workshop and garage. The budget, however, was minimal; approximately 73,000USD (800USD per square meters). To answer this request, an ultra-light timber structure was designed with the use of very low cost materials.

On house in Sakata, Japan by Takeru Shoji Architects Co., Ltd.

Sunday, August 4th, 2019

Article source: Takeru Shoji Architects Co., Ltd.

The site is located in an old and quiet neighborhood of Sakata city, Yamagata prefecture, near the national highway that runs through the Tohoku region.
On house is designed for a family of four whose design brief detailed the need for a house that can cater to the individuality of each member of the family. The clients wanted a house where each member of the family can have their own space but they can feel the presence of others around them.

With this brief in mind, we scattered 3 towers on the large 330 square meter site and connected them using a deep eave band at the mid-level of the towers. When the residents travel in between the towers, they will invariably cross spaces, like the doma (cement floor) corridor or the terrace, under this eave band and the soffit of this eave mediates the different spaces and connect them on a horizontal plane.

Intelligent Logistics Center PROTO in Ichikawa, Japan by Bureau 0–1

Monday, July 29th, 2019

Article source: Bureau 0–1

Bureau 0–1 designed a showroom to experience firsthand the futuristic logistics center in which robots and people work together. This facility is located in a gigantic distribution depot that opened in April of 2018 and operated by Daiwa House Group. It is a first project for Bureau 0–1 that exceeds 1000 m². [Opened in June of 2016, DPL Ichikawa is the distribution depot located in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture.]

Nested in the depot with its rough, industrial aesthetics, we created a new world that begins with the carefully choreographed circulation, and eventually, leading up to the meeting space from which you can see the futuristic distribution system. Under the design concept of “Tectonic,” we sought to design a space that evolves with the systems, technology, and people who work there, and can transform over time.

ReBar in Tokyo, Japan by Organic Design Architecture Studio

Sunday, July 28th, 2019

Article source: Design Architecture Studio

This renovation transformed part of a 33-year-old building in Shibaura, Tokyo, that once provided warehousing and R&D space for a leading electronics company. Design of the 150 m2 area was also undertaken to attract a future corporate tenant who will use all 1,380 m2 of the floor space.

A primary consideration was that any walls erected should not impede airflow of the central air conditioning, which suggested that we should approach the project by redefining the role of office walls.

The name Warehouse Market Tokyo ReBar derives from the rebar used.

Sunday, July 28th, 2019

Article source: tai_tai STUDIO

This is a small three-story apartment. A small site (58.66 m2) has eight micro dwelling units with a floor area of 10 m2 or so. The room is equipped with a small shower unit, a space-saving toilet, a mini-kitchen, a loft bed and so on, enough to prepare for tomorrow's activities. Residents based on this small space, Tokyo can be shared.

This is about 10 minutes by subway in the center of Tokyo. It is in an area where the ground is weak and small wooden houses are densely packed.
In order to secure the safety of this building and to construct it economically and rationally,
(1) examination of construction technology to be adopted,
(2) operation of laws to be complied with,
