Jilin Financial Centre Commercial Complex in China by Aedas

Jilin Financial Centre designed by Aedas is a commercial complex built to bring greenery to the heart of Changchun, where winter dominants almost half the year. The iceberg-shaped buildings are designed to capture as much light as possible to break the visual boundary between its inner space and its environment. Surrounded by green lawns and public squares, the development creates an urban parlour for citizens to connect with nature as it blends into the urban context.

Stage of forest in Jilin, China by META-Project

Stage of Forest，located at Songhua Lake Resort in Ji Lin，is situated on a hillside between the forest and the slope. The site is surrounded by luscious greenery in summer and covered by an overwhelming white snow in winter. As is a delicate site for a “Land(scape) Mark”, one whose indefinite programming demands a careful degree of deliberation. The location and triangle shape of the “stage” was only determined after precise examination and deduction of the site condition, to minimize the impact for the existing vegetation and to maximize the view on the platform. While sitting on the hill, it is facing the Songhua lake at a distance, who is famous for the rime in its surrounding areas.

Baita Italia in Jilin, China by SLOW Architects

The Italian word “Baita” refers to a place that allows climbers to have a break and regain their strength. This café located in Vanke Lake Songhua Resort is appropriately denominated as “Baita Italia” due to its remarkable place at the right beginning of the town center of the resort facing the mountain and the ski tracks, and its role in the cultural communication between Vanke and Italy.
