The Yaroslav Galant innovative design studio finished work on an interior of delicatessen cafe with refined street food Bite &Go. Deli Cafe located in the center of Kiev. The place is completed in the smart industrial style created about seven years ago by the designer Yaroslav Galant.
Smart industrial – the bold eclecticism uniting modern materials and technologies, creative adaptation of elements of traditional styles, and also the principles of actual in the world sustainable design: the second life of the served subjects and materials in new functional quality, sustainability, respect for historical value of the environment.
Our main challenge in designing this office interior was to use every centimeter of the space in the most efficient way. We kept all zones needed for productive work: recreational, working and meeting area and also left some space for a kitchen and a small bathroom. We separated the meeting area by a wooden bookshelf with black glossy sliding doors. Working space for young and creative team inspires cohesive work and stimulates creative activity.
The cafe ‘Unit’ became one of the objects of the revitalization project of the part of the plant in Kiev and our team was working on it. This cafe is for students who study at IT-school ‘Unit Factory’. In the beginning we did not plan to build it. But while working on the IT-school project, we understood that there was not so much space for a big canteen or a cafeteria in the reconstructed building. Then we decided to offer the investor to locate the cafe apart. We told about the opportunity to use sea containers and after sketches we got the approval for preparing detailed documents. The cafe became a peculiar business card, a bright spot. Residents, students and other people eat, have meetings, discuss business and get acquainted informally on the territory of Unit City – the name that was given to the territory of the revitalization. Fourteen sea containers were used in the implementation of the Unit Cafe project. One of them is vertical and there is a staircase in it. On the first floor there is an open terrace that is located in the console way above the ground floor. The console of the first floor is 7,5 metres. It has a great school and business centers views. There is water from the one side and it leads to the bridge entrance. Exterior and interior have something in common. A bright green container (the first floor) is partly painted in this colour, too. There are comfortable sofas, tables with chairs and plants on the ground and on the first floors . There is a kitchen, a lavatory and pantries on the ground floor. The total area of the cafe is 275 m2.
In the beginning M3 architects had focused the attention to a functional zoning for IT-office. After the research they understood that existing solutions can be improved. A spacious co-working, the center of Kiev, the developed infrastructure, good transportation are not enough. Architects have decided to create the perfect office for IT-experts and relocate the office from main streets to a green suburb.

The project is located in one of the apartment block of residential complex. during the design, we considered two essential factors to develop the concept of Mehr Khaneh interior design. The first factor is the client’s interests in the Persian civilization, culture, and values, namely the metaphors of Mithraism and sun. The second factor is the artistic character of the client, which had to be reflected in design.
