Apartment V2 in Koper, Slovenia by marasovic arhitekti

Wednesday, June 16th, 2021

Article source: marasovic arhitekti

The presented project is a result of a close collaboration between our studio and the clients. It was their input, the open-minded approach to new ideas and the ability to think about a nonordinary lifestyle that made this project possible.

The apartment is situated at the first floor of a historical house in the center of Koper. The house was once a home of a noble family, but after WW II was divided in smaller apartments, as many others. Apart from the location, the façade and the various details, one of the main characteristics that testifies about the noble past of the building is the “piano nobile” with its great height of 4.3 meters.

Apartment M8 in Koper, Slovenia by marasovic arhitekti

This project, realized as a fully functional apartment for a couple, is actually a sample project/showroom inside our studio.

It clearly shows the way in which we think and work and is a great non-verbal communication tool between our client, collaborators, and our studio.

The apartment is situated in the old city center of Koper, in a building that was designed by the renowned Slovenian modernist Edo Mihevc. The interior design was influenced by the legacy of the original design, but adapted to a contemporary lifestyle and modern-day needs.
