Le Jour Café is located in the historic centre of Košice, on the Hlavná street in a building, which is the oldest preserved bourgeois building in the city centre. Large vault premises with an area of 140 m2 offered various options of use.
The architecture of the new district is based on simple and clear shapes and colours, yet it still respects the uniqueness of each house. The uniqueness is shown, above all, in the first floor that becomes the differentiator of the houses, and in the last, retracted floor, corresponding to various types of apartments and providing for forming of generous terraces and views.
The concept consists of a simple joist nested in the terrain including the garage wing which is built in contrast to the houses around.“
The west-oriented rooms are connected with the exterior by a glazed facade. The terrace and the balcony with impressive roofing and external blinds are the most dominant elements of the house. The facade is accentuated by wooden tiling. The roof above the garage is green. Architectural concrete and wood are abundantly employed in the interior.
