Mazanka Apartment in Kyiv, Ukraine by Sergey Makhno Architects

Saturday, June 5th, 2021

Article source: Sergey Makhno Architects

Mazanka is an apartment in a Kyiv skyscraper with a view of the Dnipro river, where ancient construction technologies were used. In the Ukrainian language, мазанка (mazanka) means a small village house built of wood, clay, and reeds. The name comes from the word мазати (mazaty) — to cover something with a layer of clay.

Mazanka apartment is a dialogue of our architects with the past. And its result is a step towards the originality of modern Ukrainian design and Ukrainian culture as it is.

Article source: YUDIN Design

PRO espresso opened just after the lockdown, at the height of last summer. One of the characteristics that differentiates this cafe from the others is the use by the barista of compact Modbar machines instead of the classic ones.

Modbar is visually a single piston and a compact press. Therefore, the owners of PRO espresso asked the founders of YUDIN Design studio to pay all their attention in the interior to the progressive devices and the skills of the barista, who is finally not hidden behind the machine but produces masterpieces based on espresso right in front of the visitor’s eyes!

Private residence designed and built for sale. The owner turned to Andrey Sokruta Workshop to create a property that everyone could potentially enjoy!

The architecture was intended to be modern and functional. The interior was supposed to be as neutral as possible, but stylish and attractive. It was important to strike a balance and not go too far in the direction of too pretentious minimalism, to avoid particulars. Therefore, the designer-architect Andrey Sokruta decided to work in the direction of a comfortable minimalism. The working title of the project is also understandable and natural EQ – Equilibrium, which means “place of balance”.

Pine Cove House in Kyiv, Ukraine by Dezest

Friday, October 30th, 2020

Article source: Dezest

We created the architecture of the Pine Cove House while minimizing environmental damage. The volumes are arranged so as to integrate the house into the forest space as much as possible.

The space of the house isn’t limited by the walls, we have made nature and the environment part of the architecture, an extension of the house. A feeling of overflow of inner space into outer space.
