The project deal with the renovation of an apartment in a Ligurian coastal town. The request of the client was to reorganize the 35 square meters in order to organize the rooms by dividing the living area from the sleeping area. The nautical culture (that is a strong peculiarity of this region) was fundamental for the development of the project.
The project provides a new vision of sports and environment. It combines youth education and growth with Spezia Calcio’s athletic needs, always respecting the context and the local resources.
The renovation of the sports center “Ferdeghini”, with minimal building’s footprint, high energetical efficiency and sensorial comfort, designed to become the “home” of the youth sector of the historic Company Spezia Calcio.
The new expo pavilion has been built in a former industrial area previously occupied by a pasta factory. The building, which features a coated iron structure and envelope made of titanium-zinc panels and vast glazed surfaces, takes the form of a long parallelepiped, folded over on itself, that soars up from the ground, jutting out sharply at the end to shelter the entrance facing the pre-existing multiplex. The shape of the building is based on the idea of creating an architectural promenade that unfurls from the highest point of the building, through an exhibition space, down to the bottom.
