Lobster House in Lima, Peru by Martín Dulanto Arquitecto

Saturday, May 16th, 2020

Article source: Martín Dulanto Arquitecto

The project is conceived as two blocks, where one rest upon the other. Both with different characteristics and treatments. The lower one is treated as (one big portico / a big space structured by one single portico) that contains the social spaces, all linked and well integrated, thanks to the use of sliding glass panels, to the exterior. While the upper one has, facing the outside, a series of archeries that reveals the partition of the spaces it contains, as well as the private condition of the same. Even so,  without losing the direct relationship with the outside world.

A white box, a habitat platform and the space generated between both elements, composes this project.

The box is separated from the base creating a large space open to the landscape. The white block contains the master bedroom, which runs through the whole front of the house, facing the sea, and the two guest bedrooms, located on the back of the lot. These three rooms are organized around a hall, which reaches the staircase, and also connects all three levels.

Casa Topo in Lima, Peru by Martin Dulanto

Thursday, March 7th, 2019

Article source: Martin Dulanto

This project is conceived with the premise of minimizing its impact on the environment, looking for the house to be perceived smaller than it really is. For this, the lower level of the house (which contains the social and service areas) is semi-buried and it is given a rustic and organic treatment, since it is the level that physically relates to nature, while in contrast, the upper level, the one that contains the bedrooms, is considered as a pure block (completely covered in wood) apparently simply resting on the ground.

Pacífico Sur Club in Lima, Peru by Nikolas Briceño arquitecto

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Nikolas Briceño arquitecto

The Pacífico Sur Club, which was founded in the 60s in Lima´s coast, has a surfing tradition. Seventy five percent of its associates practice this sport: surfing defines what the sea means to them. As it usually occurs with other buildings of the time, it became necessary to formulate a series of changes that would cover the new needs of the associates.

The changes had to be respectful with the essence of the club, that is:  its unique character and the contact with the sea. Every change had to be careful in improving the functional aspect, as well as strengthening the spaces. New materials to match with the already existent were to be implemented.

Terrace House in Lima, Peru by Chetecortes Architects

Thursday, September 27th, 2018

Article source: Chetecortes Architects

The land is sloping on a rocky hill away from the beach, has trapezoidal shape (471.9m2) and borders on the sides with 2 neighboring lots. The house is created in levels (Terrace 1 and 2, basement, First and Second Floor) to take advantage of the view of the sea, not only horizontally but also vertically. 15 years ago, there were no beach houses in the south of Lima , people spent the summer and festivities making camps. Families and friends gathered and built tents to sleep around a central space, where the grill, the dining room and the campfire were located. People walked barefoot day and night, they could feel the temperature and texture of the sand, the cold and the heat. Around the central space, they met until late at night to enjoy the outdoors (sea, stars, fire and friends), meals, parties and conversations were held.

This project, to be developed in a residential neighborhood in the east area of the city of Lima, belongs to a particular client. The challenge: meet all the requirements of the owner in an irregular piece of land on a hill with steep slopes. The location of the land and the view you have from it towards part of the city, would be decisive for the project.
