San Ignacio House in Logroño, Spain by Palma

Sunday, March 6th, 2022

Article source: Palma

San Ignacio is a renovation and addition project of a house located in the state of Nayarit in Mexico. The client’s requirement was to renovate the existing building that harbored the rooms, which were in very poor conditions, and the construction of two new volumes, one that could function as a flexible space for photo shoots and different creative expressions, and the second as an outdoor living space that would allow a direct relationship with the pool.

Our proposal consisted of two main actions: the alteration of the existing house and the configuration of the central courtyard with the construction of the two new volumes.

In “Blackout”, SpY proposes the inallation of a black here with a diameter of 15mt to be located in the central oculus of the Logroño intermodal ation for “Concéntrico 07” Logroño’s International Feival of Architeure and Design. The oculus in their architeural origin had the funion of windows or as a passage of light. Etymologically, the word derives from the Latin expression “ochulos” which literally translates as “eye”. In the Neolithic period it was interpreted as a symbol of the gods’ conant vigilance and aention to the aions of human beings.

Campo Viejo Winery – Juan Alcorta Winery in Logroño, Spain by Ignacio Quemada Architects

Saturday, October 24th, 2015

Article source: Ignacio Quemada Architects

The Campo Viejo Winery lies on a plateau on the River Ebro valley, the Rad de Santa Cruz, which is covered by 37 hectares of undulating vineyards with marvellous views in all directions.  The programme is split into two parts, which means that the visiting area is located on the vineyard, château-like, whereas the winery, which covers a surface area of 45,000 m², cannot conceivably be sited on the hill, but is built into it, like a work of land art, and is concealed from the vineyard.

La Grajera in Logroño, Spain by Virai Arquitectos

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Article source: Virai Arquitectos

In the estate of La Grajera, west of the city of Logroño and only a few yards from the Camino de Santiago, we find the Institutional Winery of La Grajera.

The Project seeks an equilibrium between the need to announce the presence of the winery and the desire to merge with the landscape: the volumes follow the deformations of the land and are interrupted, moving towards the forest, remaining close to its border and thus respecting the existing vegetation.
