082 Showroom Interrato in Lucca, Italy by MIDE architetti

Sunday, June 11th, 2017

Article source: MIDE architetti

The project for the new Gianni Chiarini’ s showroom in Milan consists in a partially hypogeum exhibition space, located underneath an historical building in the heart of the city.

The access has been re-set up through a recessed patio in the courtyard pavement, which hosts the new stairway that leads to the showroom below. This morphological operation modifies the ground floor of the external area, emphasising the entrance and inviting the visitor to descend. The resulting basement patio has therefore transformed into a small garden, a formal filter between the public space and the more intimate and welcoming internal showroom.

The House in Forte dei Marmi in Lucca, Italy by FABBRICANOVE Architetti

Sunday, April 23rd, 2017

Article source: FABBRICANOVE Architetti

The House in Forte dei Marmi, a work of architectural office FABBRICANOVE, releases a landscape that in the past was place where explosive materials were produced, then military ones, then it was reclaimed as an agricultural land, then it was marked by the concrete of the highway.

Located between the coast and the Apuane Alps, the villa amazes with its distinct and clear features, through which the respect to the particular allocation can be recognized, where the touristic vocation contributed to the development of the place. In the chaos and in the planning approximation of big part of the contemporary Italian construction, the formula to highlight one virtuous example is simplicity.

COUNTRY HOUSE in Lucca, Italy by MIDE architetti

Saturday, November 28th, 2015

Article source: MIDE architetti

The project site involves an old country house, built in 1887 in the immediate neighborhood of Lucca and a most recent farmhand’s cottage. The buildings are integrated in the countryside of Lucca and maintain its typical characteristics.Specifically, the buildings are located in a hilly landscape, between gentle slopes, where oaks and chestnuts lick the property. In this background, the renovation has been directed to both the maintenance and the enhancement of typical elements of the local architecture, such as exposed brick wall, stone of Matraia and chestnut wood.Pursuing this goal, and in full respect of the typical features, the components and materials used have been revised in a contemporary way, adopting the most appropriate construction techniques, in order to ensure the achievement of the best possible result.
