A newly-created industrial zone in a peripheral area with no identity, references or language; major road links which cross, divide and model the contemporary landscape; a narrow, long plot between partition walls. Only the distant views on this landscape offer any interesting prospect of a relationship with the outside.

The result of this constant evolution brought about the project, the new headquarters of Elecnor in Madrid, and which has been furnished by Actiu.
More than just a gardening pavilion, what we have truly wanted to build is a home for gardeners. The project, perceived as a unique system of pavilions, enables the repetition and serialisation for providing unity to the image of the woodland facility, mainly dealing with the topography and the interior distribution according to the needs of every district, which are not always the same.
In 1717, Pedro de Ribera drew the first project of the Conde Duque barracks in Madrid. It had to provide answers for an ambitious program to house the more than 600 men and 400 horses of the Royal Guard.
For almost three centuries the building has maintained the same structure, having overcome countless trials. The most significant ones were two fires in the second half of the 19th Century that almost required its demolition and rebuilding. The restoration was never complete.
This singular urban shelter is just twenty square meters and nevertheless is one hundred cubic meters of volume. In such an enclosed space should a single person live and work. He will use his creativity and dynamism to make it his own sweet home.
The need to renew the premises of an office block located in a suburb in the north area of Madrid was perceived as a chance to make the most out of an underused building. One intervention after another had made it more and more meaningless, with a broken up and confusing spatial organization structure and an environment that made it difficult for it to be seen from the urban surroundings. The operation entailed a new space management policy for the company, which turned the building into its new corporate headquarters.
The housing development in Vallecas is the main urban planning development in Madrid today. It is almost completely organised in a homogenous pattern of closed square blocks of 75 meters a side. The plot for the competition occupies three thirds of such a block.
Located in the hub of the capital Madrid, the building Castellana 36-38, one of the ship’s heritage buildings Mutua Madrileña main Spanish insurer, is currently undergoing a change in depth of its interior spaces and its facade. True to his research and environmental context, IAD proposes a revitalization of the architectural aesthetics of the building, the purpose of the Mutua Madrileña: make it reappear in the exclusive and iconic profile of the Castellana.
After a long search in the surroundings of Madrid I found a plot with special characteristics that excited me from which the project would come up. Large blocks of natural marble emerged from the steep slope. The views over the mountains of Madrid from there were amazing. All these qualities turned into my personal inspiration for the spaces of the housing, both exteriors and interiors.
