House 60 in Mar del Plata, Argentina by TAM Architecture

Friday, November 4th, 2022

Article source: TAM Architecture

A suspended horizontal surface and the ground trap the space where life develops. The outside, the inside. The stillness, the movement. The void, the all.
By folding both surfaces, they modify their horizontal and discover different heights between them.

The void was there and it was subtly trapped for a family to develop their life.

A family that decides to live in the security of a private neighborhood, one of many that emerge in the big cities of Argentina.

Living room that allows different ways of living.

“They were there. It was their home…They gave us permission. Suddenly, you feel the birds, the shadows protecting you, the light dancing, aroma of nature, sound of leaves and wind.

The soft heartwood is the beginning, you will enjoy it, it will guide your way, you will travel upon it, you will enter their leaves and walk on them, climb on them, till you reach the top.”

Celina´s House in Mar del Plata, Argentina by TAM Architecture

Monday, October 17th, 2022

Article source: TAM Architecture

A little house built on a piece of land in the neighborhood of Santa Celina, in the south of Mar del Plata.

The area is known for its abundance of trees and greenery. The property is centrally located on a Pampean-Argentinian block. The site is unique as it contains an atypical level drop towards the main street. To the front, a wide tree-lined street. To the back, facing north, a picturesque green pedestrian space.

The house is compact. Although it has limited floor space, the design manages to offer multiple circulation paths which all converge in a central semi-sunken courtyard.

Casa Galicia in Mar del Plata, Argentina by LOI Arquitectura

We are in a neighborhood of low-density single-family homes that highlight the verticality of the urban trees of the city. The land is unified in the shape of an “L”, where the shortest side presents a house and the longest side a service area of the house, each side of the lot responds to different streets and conditions. The land faces North, contains a construction of a quincho – laundry – garage made of exposed bricks and presents an orange tree and a large palm tree. The meeting point of the two lands is considered as a common and recreational space. We take the longest part of the Land, this sector is detached from the other part by a subdivision given by the Parents to their daughter. Thus leaving a field of 10.00mts in front x 19.00mts long.

Porta House in Mar del Plata, Argentina by Moire Studio Architects

Bearing in mind the limited dimensions of the piece of land, we proposed to elevate the public spaces of the house. This resource provides good lighting and great visuals of the city, as it gives privacy to the terrace, which is the main outer space.

On the ground floor the house develops a basing. It allows creating a strong limit with the street, opening up to a small patio. On the access and the bedrooms area, the limit turns sharper, as it gets to be more permeable on the corner.

Valente House in Mar del Plata, Argentina by Moire Studio Architects

This project responds to the need of a client who wanted to build his home in a piece of land on the wood of Peralta Ramos, in Mar del Plata.

The house has a contemporary aesthetic. It was designed as a single element of concrete, which makes contrast with the characteristics of its environment. This unique volume is treated to create transition spaces to develop outdoor activities during the summer.
