The origin. Since the beginning of the project we were captivated by the idea of making a display window façade that could function as protection for the interior –the natural function of any façade- and at the same time be able to display a product in it. Breaking away from the conventional commercial glass façade that allows us to see into it without any further ambition.

The project foresees the opportunity to use reinterpretation as a consistent creative tool. By mimicking orientation strategy and a very simple functional diagram, the new construction relinks to the notion of history and accustomed-living behavior patterns. Open space allow direct sun light to enter from the south side, east and west side are offset inner plot, so only north side is at property line. The idea is to transit from a 2,754 sq.ft. Old construction to a 1,937 sq.ft. one, mainly same program, roughly different space quality experience.
This 4 apartment’s project was done in the south of the Colonia del Valle, a traditional area in Mexico City, in a 350 sq m lot where a single family home was for many years. One of the main goals of the project was to respect the height of the urban belt and maintain complete harmony with the surroundings.
The project was developed in 3 levels and the main façade was put back 4 meters to have 20% of free space. Two volumes stand out in the limit of the lot, one on the main level protecting the courtyard of one of the apartments and the other in the third level that partially contains the kitchens of the upper apartments.
MX581 is a 3-level, 12-unit residential building located on Avenida México # 581, colonia San Jerónimo Aculco, in Mexico City.
The “L” shaped site generated a challenge to accommodate the program of the building. It was decided to leave a garden on the side of the project, so that the building’s exterior could be rectangular with an east-west orientation. The pedestrian access of the building is through this garden, positioned 3 meters above street level.
The project proposes two towers, each with 6 single story apartments, ranging from 150 to 212 sqm. These building towers are connected by a central courtyard from which you can access the apartments.
This apartment is located in Polanco, in Mexico City, just across from a park so the views are mostly of fantastic tree tops. The apartment has one level with wide spaces that allowed making a proper distribution of the areas resulting in a casual, very warmth and open ambience.

The inspiration for the interior design of these suites comes from Gala, the famous wife and great muse of surrealist artist Dalí. Movement and light are the elements that give personality to each of the rooms whose typology is identified by 3 dominant colors: orange, blue and green. The ceiling is a very important element in every room and the combination between the specially designed images, colors and indirect light create a unique atmosphere on top of the bed.
Located in the Anáhuac neighborhood of Mexico City in a space that years ago served as a Factory.
The space consists of two large areas: a warehouse with a structure based on columns and a saw-tooth roof; and a three-level building with an institutional characteristic.
The story of the expendio de maiz project started from a road trip between friends, those trips when we decice to leave Mexico city for a few days, to go the rural countryside, far from our trendy urban way of life in the capital, to those simple villages, non touristic ones, where we can enjoy simple food, simple moments of authentic mexican life, just watching the people living.
Very often when you travel by car in mexico, it normal to drive straight from 7 to 8 hours, which means at some point you´ll need to eat, to eat very simple mexican food they prepare along the road, or in any villages you could pass by, made most of the time by women, in a very tradicional non fancy way, but simply always delicious. The main product, the base of everything in mexico is the corn, every day we eat corn, this is what we call the mexican Tortilla.
