The house was built in the early 80’s and is located west of Mexico City. The remodeling made by Claudia Lopez Duplan was a total renovation of both space and image. In addition to interior and exterior renovation, major changes were also made in all the facilities, especially for the unification of the public areas.
PugSealTennyson is located in a house from the 40s in the Neocolonial or Colonial Californian style that was very popular at that time in the neighborhood of Chapultepec Polanco. The house harbors the heritage of many decades of history, memories, feelings and surely a great amount of sensations. All these moments, feelings, nostalgia is what we take up in the team of Germán Velasco Arquitectos to create the history of the Hotel PugSeal.
The biggest challenge of this project was moving the client from their 45 years offices to a new space. The double height of the building favored the project opening the possibilities of what could be done in the space. Sobriety, communication, elegance and openness are the concepts that make the language of the whole project, creating a unique synergy.
The entrance to C57-4 building is through a lobby with restrained design highlighted with details in wood and forge welcoming the inhabitants and leading them towards the vertical circulations formed by lifts and service staircase. In the interior of each floor, all of the units structural level was reconditioned to generate wide corridors dominated by an inside patio —that works also as a meeting point and relaxing area— with a red brick carpet down the shade of a tree.
La Cuspide is a project developed by ARCO Arquitectura Contemporanea´s team described by two words: elegance and sobriety. This apartment located in Mexico City responds to the needs and taste of it owner who requested that his home had to be inspired in the luxury of a presidential suite of a grand cosmopolitan hotel.
The project for an international Spanish brand, specialized in clothing and accessories for ladies and gentlemen with international prestige, was done in a 120 square meters area.
Ignacia Guest House starts from the rescue of this old house in memory of whom was the former housekeeper for more than 70 years. The concept of the project was created starting from the personality and documentary information about Mrs. Ignacia, from the chromatic palette and gardening (inspired by the landscapes of Ignacia’s origin place, Guerrero) to the intimacy of spaces.
Consolidate two companies —that finally became one—in the same space and set the standards of how the company´s offices must be around the world is not an easy task. This is why attending the customer´s request and shaping their identity was an opportunity not to be wasted. How we did it? Incorporating in floors, walls and ceilings some details or references that we may find when we board a plane.
The void of the patio organizes two volumes of five levels with 10 apartments measuring 138 m2 each, in the south of Mexico City.
The lattices and spatial organization of the adjoining constructions help to inspire a project that looks inwards.
With an area of 20 x 25 m, the apartments take advantage of the whole frontage to ensure that rooms are filled with light and air. A corridor links the volumes on the south and north sides, and the courtyard between them.
This project of offices was realized for a BTL agency, which considered RIMA Arquitectura to re-do the project of its offices, a satisfied customer with previous experience of the design and methodology of this architecture office. This time, in addition to renewing its image, they expanded the area occupied by the company. The challenge to carry out this project was to fulfill a budget in a certain time, with operating offices; That is to say, remodeling of the spaces went away working by areas without interrupting the daily work of the agency.
