RLD House in Jalisco, México by LR Arquitectura

Friday, December 14th, 2018

Article source: LR Arquitectura

The reflexive analysis of the personal needs that a dwelling must satisfy enables the project to simplify the functions in free volumes in order to promote an inclusive and flexible family dynamic.

In this case the project focuses on the residual spaces that emerge between the volumes that contain the necessary functions for the house. Equally important, these spaces offer flexibility by performing as extensions of the volumes and in turn regulate temperature.

The Auditorio Nacional is recognized as the most important venue for the entertainment industry in Mexico, stands out among the three best forums in the world in its kind and is a reference and a must for national and foreign artists.

The building, designed by the architect Teodoro Gonzalez de León, it reflects the strength, expression and monumentality characteristic of his work. The area of intervention located under a grand staircase is a space with an iconic character due to its curved shape. Three resounding gestures of pure and simple geometry make up the space; the arch-shaped ceiling, the striated concrete bar with rational expression and finally the brass counter-bar.

Casa Ruidera is a patio-house exercise carried out for a real estate developer within a private residential development on the Veracruz Riviera. The plot where the house was designed had no great attributes, which is why it seeks to create its own context towards the interior through a patio, which provides light and ventilation to the house.

Paseo de las Lilas House in Mexico by Taller David Dana

Friday, November 23rd, 2018

Article source: Taller David Dana

The Project stands 15 meters above ground. The main floor seats at the treetops level. This atypical architectural intervention seeks to create a direct bonding with the surrounding nature & also to maximize views & daylighting. The results are outstanding.

After we looked at the site and its context with detail, we decided that the foundation for this proposal would be a rustic/contemporary design, a fusion that produces perpetual appetite for innovation. On one side we integrated a few fragments that are recurrent in Mexican architecture and history. From the other we inserted contemporary ideas to counter culture the conventional architecture.

Casa Chaaltun in Mérida, Mexico by tescala

Thursday, November 22nd, 2018

Article source: tescala

Architecture approaches nature by rearranging its elements. In Casa Chaaltun, this conformation was an attempt to evoke and interpret the natural and cultural context of the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico, challenging the mainstream perception and common use of its natural materials.

To adapt the program into the lot’s geometry, it was divided into three zones: private, social and services; the volumes were designed accordingly. Four volumes are connected by a main long axis, which is the project’s spine. Two of them are solid, facing south and west, solving the privacy and, at the same time, it protects the interior and shadows the others. The remaining volumes are lightly floating, generating a double height ceiling in the ground level, facing to the northeast.

Penthouse in Magdalena, Mexico by Taller David Dana

Tuesday, November 20th, 2018

Article source: Taller David Dana

Penthouse in Magdalena emerges inside a building located in Colonia del Valle, in Mexico City. The concept that generated the design consisted on the integration of allusive elements of the Mexican culture, contrasting with details and contemporary accents, seeking to generate a harmonious and integral composition.

The characteristics of the space and its context allowed the development of an environment with adequate natural lighting and views to the exterior, granting freshness to the environment and privacy in relation to the boundaries of the site. The project is characterized by the high degree of detail in its elements, creating a harmonious and aesthetic character, capable of generating different sensations in the user.

Neology in Mexico City, Mexico by Taller Paralelo

Tuesday, November 20th, 2018

Article source: Taller Paralelo

Neology use to be located in an old house downtown Mexico City, in the Colonia Condesa, where the original spaces were adapted with workspaces; but the growth of the company and the distribution of the house caused the development to be compromised.

In addition to the growth, the environment within the company in small private spaces generated independent worlds within the areas of the company; reaching extremes where people were only known through huge mail chains.

Coroco 5 in Mexico City, Mexico by Miguel Montor arquitecto

Tuesday, November 6th, 2018

Article source: Miguel Montor arquitecto

After several years of being located in San Ángel, a neighborhood south of Mexico City, and after our first six years as an independent architecture firm, the opportunity to change our workshop’s location emerges.

Our needs regarding space and location began to change: that which began as a nearly individual studio began to shift gradually towards a collective space, where a team of several architects take part in our daily tasks.
