Departamento Acueducto in Mexico City, Mexico by ARCO ARquitectura Contemporánea

Sunday, July 29th, 2018

Article source: ARCO ARquitectura Contemporánea

The remodeling project for Acueducto apartment was developed in a 190 sq m area for a 3 people family. Nothing was conserved from the original project in order to remodel completely all the areas to create a whole new home inside a 90s building.

ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea´s team achieved warm environments in all the apartment areas, even like in the living room and master bedroom, where you may feel the sober and elegant touch. These sensations are encompassed thanks to the ideal combination of materials both in walls and floors as well as in the selection of the materials of the designed or specified furniture. The main chosen material is an oak plank for the floors and to cover the walls that is in harmony with a neutral color gray palette and the American walnut carpentry. In some spaces an accent of color and contrast is given by the color blue.

Irekua Anatani House in Valle de Bravo, Mexico by BROISSIN

Thursday, July 5th, 2018

Article source: BROISSIN

The name “Avandaro” comes from a Purépecha word (a native language) that means “place of the orchard” or “place in the clouds”. It was a territory originally inhabited by the tarasco indigenous people; who gave it this name, from whose language this house takes its alias, “Irekua”: Family house, and “Anatani”: to be under a tree: Irekua Anatani = Family house under the trees. Inspired by the land, which lies covered by showy trees, principally by oyamel trees, pine trees and encino trees, from the very first visit to the property we thought that the house had to enjoy the splendor of living under this density and be intrinsically a part of it by safeguarding most of the trees and the existing forest. This gave meaning to the architectural concept that took as a foundation platform a tranquil and partly open space in the middle of the mountain. The program was adapted to that topography, adjusting each space according to its use and function within the community of the whole house.

Nave Industrial RX (Xray Factory) in Morelia, Mexico by EMILIO ALVAREZ ABOUCHARD ARQUITECTURA

Wednesday, June 20th, 2018

Article source: EMILIO ALVAREZ ABOUCHARD ARQUITECTURA

The NaveIndustrialRX (RXFactory) project started with the operation of a radioactive source for the steel industry. Safety was the main concern of the client, not only because of the radioactive source but because of the building itself. The first and most important outline in design was choosing concrete as the main construction material. The whole building was modulated according to the metallic panels used to cast the concrete: factory’s floors and walls are constructed in multiples of 60cm leaving it exposed, which helped us to arrange the constructive and compositional elements of architecture.

MX housing in Veracruz, Mexico by Morales architects

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Article source: Morales architects

The housing MX emerges the multifaceted necessity of the users who look for a prototype of housing of sale different to the commercial thing through a mortgage.

The project is based on an analysis and a study of the local neighborhood market. Morales architects designs a prototype with a risky proposal to the existing criteria and customs, minimizing the commercial without suspending certain traditional factors, since this plays an important role in the risk-time-cost of sale with a limited and controlled budget based on experimental criteria.
