Casa Axel in Mexico by PALMA

Since the 2017 earthquake that struck central Mexico, initiatives such as Reconstruir México emerged, the objective was to achieve a conscious and effective reconstruction of the affected areas. For this, 50 architectural firms were summoned, which would be in charge of working with families in vulnerable situations. The project funded by #LoveArmyMéxico and with the support of different institutions such as Fundación Origen, ¡Échale! a tu Casa, Fideicomiso Fuerza México and PienZa Sostenible would deliver a house to each of the affected families.

Baja Club Hotel in Mexico by Max von Werz Architects

Baja Club entails a 32–room lifestyle hotel for hoteliers Grupo Habita located on a beautiful plot of coastal promenade in the historic centre of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Blending old with new, the 3623 m2 project –designed by Mexico City based Max von Werz Arquitectos and Paris based interior design studio Jaune brings together the restoration and adaptive reuse of a colonial style villa dating from 1910 –once a site for oyster pearl harvesting– and the construction of a new four–story extension plus basement containing guestrooms, suites, a spa and a rooftop sunset bar.

Lorena House in Puebla, Mexico by AND-Y arquitectos

The project is located in a semi-urban neighborhood surrounded by a rural environment that continues having this type of constructions featuring materials such as adobe (mudbricks), exposed bricks, volcanic stone details, rustic wood, and clay roof tiles. The house was first conceived by considering several axis and scales from the previous construction on the site. Privacy in the indoor spaces was given priority while expecting to generate a sense of mystery and uncertainty from the outside.

Apartment T801 in Mexico by Acunsa Arquitectos

Apartment T 801 is located in one of the most affluent areas in western Mexico City, Colonia Bosque de las Lomas. In its early years the neighborhood was ringed by forest land, and over time and with urban growth has evolved into a cosmopolitan district with all the urban amenities necessary for comfortable living.

The project consisted of a total renovation, and using the structure as a shell, eliminated all the walls which had divided the previous spaces to accommodate the needs and preferences of the new family which occupies it today, a music loving couple.

Punta Majahua in Troncones, México by Zozaya Arquitectos

Punta Majahua is situated in the magnificent surf villa of Troncones, it is a residential complex strategically located in a spectacular ten thousand square meter piece of land on a peninsula, north of Troncones, in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

The concept of Punta Majahua was designed to create luxurious beachfront residences, with a very organic, and fluid architectural style which would integrate the best way possible to accommodate the site. The masterplan of the project has six buildings with three floors each, and five to eight residences making a total of thirty-nine units, a covered garage area, paddle court, a family swimming pool with a semi olympic lap lane, an administrative office, a gym, staffing and service area, orchards for the resident’s consumption, and green areas.

Studio Viktor Sørless and Estudio Juoñi have been commissioned to design a building for a research museum in the Mexican jungle. The design involves a modified step pyramid structure and ecological construction methods using earth and timber.

Together with her non-profit organisation Fundación Raíz, the Mexican art collector Fernanda Raíz is planning to construct a research museum on the edge of the tropical rainforest in southern Mexico. With its focus on people, art and science, the museum’s aim is to explore how these can coexist in harmony in the 21st century.

This corporate architecture project is a reintervention to the Altius offices, which house a marketing company. The first phase of this project was also done by RIMA Arquitectura back in 2013. Due to the growth in numbers of staff members, a plan that reinterprets the past few years’ organizational changes –without losing the brand’s creative personality– was requested.

Centro Cultural Ambiental in Mexico by Alan Enríquez | Arquitecto

The project of the Environmental Cultural Center was designed to solve specific problems of the site conditions and the architectural program itself. In order keep always contact with nature, it starts under the central patio scheme, which is designed as a garden to walk through, which at the same time, generates a micro climate for the building, this allows to spread the importance of the environment to its visitors. It has a modular scheme, which allows its construction to be in stages, in addition to its flexibility of spaces. On the other hand, it becomes a determining element for the overall project, creating the connection between the 1st and 2nd Section of the Chapultepec Forest, generating a main entrance and a rear entrance with meeting places that provoke open forums for the dissemination of environmental issues.

L House in León, Mexico by TACTIC-A

Located on a triangular lot, the house occupies the area along the two short sides of the triangle, generating a large patio as a focus of the public areas. The private areas on the upper floor are hidden behind a wooden latticework that blocks the sunlight and keeps the rooms cool.

LucaAnnex in Guanajuato, Mexico by Dual Taller de Arquitectura

The main propose was to create a small business office project for a manufacturer of vulcanized footwear with export quality.

The challenge was to use the least possible space and resource and at the same time improve the space quality of Associates, so there for we proposed to generate an office annex that could dialogue with the existing industrial environment and at the same time create a building that contrast through time and space.
