Structuring the spaces by reasonable groups detonate the distribution: the moderated space accompanies the living area that studies perspectives from its entrance and practices auctions full of materiality. The one that hides and then comes as a surprise is the private area which welcomes us to an intimate atmosphere, a comfort space outside the bedroom that can also be perceived as part of it.
The prudence in the nuances of the materials emphasizes with a bold accent the furniture. The texture always draws the material with selected veins for each environment, which together with the development of the straight line make up a space for a user who understand the significance of details.
For this branch of Nevería Roxy, located in western Mexico City, everything that was proven successfully for the historical center branch, was used in order to maintain the spirit of the original ice cream parlors with a contemporary ambiance. Again, we worked as team with the family and we stick to their wishes, managing to continue the essence that characterizes Roxy in a daring way.
Reinterpreting the typology of a Mexican house in a contemporary version, was the premise to design Keita House, where the central patio became the circulation and main view of the residence. This last one, serves as the project’s heart, it can be contemplated from everywhere, and it is completely surrounded by both private and social areas of the proposal.
Existing vegetation and the climate in Colima city, allowed the continuous opening of the proposed volumes. In the design, all the spaces are somehow permeated by either vegetation, wind and natural light, components that at the same time conquer until erasing the barrier between nature and architecture.
Zicatela house is a small weekend house located on top of a hill in front of Zicatela beach, next to Puerto Escondido in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico.
The house was designed with one main purpose to give the owner the oportunity to leave Mexico City to make a break with the megalopolis and urban habits, by coming to get some rest and relax while enjoying the heat of the Mexican coast and the peaceful light of Oaxaca.
House 34 Swallow was proyected with the intention of a compromise between the interior’s public areas and the light enriching gardens, crossed ventilation and visual finishing touches. Simplicity in colours and the use of only a few materials reflect a refined design, distinguishing the proyect in general seeking that occupants and greenery bring life to the house.
From the hall’s access you can see a rock at the back of the land serving as the pool’s header; mouldy and fern-covered it gives the garden that moistness sensation and the character of a unique element that has been there before the construction of everything that surrounds it.
Located in a residential neighborhood within the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Casa DSPR is developed in 3 levels; At street level there is the main entrance that has two entrances, vehicular and pedestrian separated by a stone wall located inside a pond that leads to the entrance of the house.
Culture must be understood as an action and communication space, a circulation place, consequently this year (2019), the initiative “México Territorio Creativo (MXTC)” is presented. It´s objective is to foster, as it has been doing for 11 years through its platform “Design Week México”, design and architecture potential as a change agent, as a tool for facing global challenges and generating solutions to improve the quality of life of our communities.
Continuously, since 2013 remarkable national and international architects have been invited by MXTC, to create pavilions that generate different critical/esthetical questionings around our actual situation, it has turned into a platform for experimental projects from some of the best architects in the world. This year, MXTC presents Gerardo Boissin´s Egaligilo Pavilion.
The project was designed with the university premise of having an auditorium where diverse artistic activities could take place, as well as conferences or symposiums. The project is part of the Anáhuac University’s master plan development. Classrooms and workshops were contemplated to allow the support of artistic formation and to strengthen the cultural life of the University’s Coordination of Art and Culture.
It is a multifunctional space for conferences, concerts, theater, dance, opera and academic acts. It includes: a vestibule that allows for temporary expositions to be mounted; a sculpture space; rehearsal rooms; dressing rooms and offices. The School of Arts resides in the Ground Floor, whose bachelor´s degrees in Plastic Arts, Contemporary Music, Theatre and Performance have been taught in the University for years.
EA64 HOUSE is a living space located in Merida´s historic center that seeks a dialogue between colonial and contemporary architecture. The Patios or courtyards are a real composition system, making them the main element that configure the structural order, the interior and exterior visuals which are part of the path. The scale variation and the use of the preexisting galleries, helped us for the access and light capture, as for a proper management of the exterior space.
Lluvia is a single-family residence located in Jardines del Pedregal, southern Mexico City. It is located in a residential area, and the site has neighboring constructions. One of its main qualities is the natural vegetation found at the back, which became an important asset in the architectural scheme.
The house is conceived as a solid volume that incorporates subtractions along the main axis; these are formed as small courtyards and double heights depending on the program. Our main intention was to merge sections of the main forest-like garden with the interior of the house and let in natural light.
