Quintana Apartment in Mexico by Taller David Dana

Sunday, February 23rd, 2020

Article source: Taller David Dana

Structuring the spaces by reasonable groups detonate the distribution: the moderated space accompanies the living area that studies perspectives from its entrance and practices auctions full of materiality. The one that hides and then comes as a surprise is the private area which welcomes us to an intimate atmosphere, a comfort space outside the bedroom that can also be perceived as part of it.

The prudence in the nuances of the materials emphasizes with a bold accent the furniture. The texture always draws the material with selected veins for each environment, which together with the development of the straight line make up a space for a user who understand the significance of details.

Keita House in Colima, Mexico by Di Frenna Architects

Thursday, February 20th, 2020

Article source: Di Frenna Architects

Reinterpreting the typology of a Mexican house in a contemporary version, was the premise to design Keita House, where the central patio became the circulation and main view of the residence. This last one, serves as the project’s heart, it can be contemplated from everywhere, and it is completely surrounded by both private and social areas of the proposal.

Existing vegetation and the climate in Colima city, allowed the continuous opening of the proposed volumes. In the design, all the spaces are somehow permeated by either vegetation, wind and natural light, components that at the same time conquer until erasing the barrier between nature and architecture.

Lluvia House in Mexico by PPAA

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

Article source: PPAA

Lluvia is a single-family residence located in Jardines del Pedregal, southern Mexico City. It is located in a residential area, and the site has neighboring constructions. One of its main qualities is the natural vegetation found at the back, which became an important asset in the architectural scheme.

The house is conceived as a solid volume that incorporates subtractions along the main axis; these are formed as small courtyards and double heights depending on the program. Our main intention was to merge sections of the main forest-like garden with the interior of the house and let in natural light.
