COLLIDER is a coworking space, event-hall and bar located on the territory of the former silkworm factory of the 19th century in the center of Moscow. The coworking space and bar were designed by the COLLIDER team. Daring loft-style solutions fully paid off in the coworking area, and the guys managed to create a cool space for work. But for the bar, the same stylistic choices didn’t work. The bar turned out to be gloomy and uncomfortable. We were faced with the task of redesigning the bar while preserving the overall concept and stylistic connection with the rest of the spaces. The new bar should be cozy, comfortable and combine the functions of a bar and a coworking space.
The new business center class A is in the 1st Zemelniy lane, not far from the «Ulitsa 1905 Goda» undegraund station, near Krasnopresnenskaya embankment and the business district Moscow City.
The business center project was developed by the UNK Project architectural bureau. A distinctive feature and recognizable element of the architectural appearance of the building is the openwork, grid-like shell on the facade. This principle is widely used in the progressive architecture of the 21st century and it also refers to the model of Soviet constructivism, reminding of the tower of engineer Shukhov. Triangular at first sight in cross-section building has no sharp corners. They are rounded and closed with a mesh structure that softens the appearance of the building.
One-bedroom apartment in Moscow for a couple. The main feature of the project is a single space of the living room, bedroom and shower room, separated by glass loft partitions. The apartment is not intended for permanent residence. Therefore, we took this bold step in order to create a modern and stylish home, where the owners can live comfortably and with pleasure during their frequent business trips to Moscow.
An apartment with a non-standard purpose required a non-standard approach. We tried to avoid the classic “roomy” layout and create an interesting space. This was done thanks to glass loft partitions. They separate the living room from the bedroom and the bedroom from the shower room, which creates a sense of one space.
А huge field surrounded by a small single-storey village was chosen as a site for new Zoya exhibition complex. Keeping in mind the context of the place memorable for the history of the Great Patriotic War, miniature buildings neighboring enormous open space we built out concept around the idea of interscale. The shapes and layout of wooden houses were interpreted through different volumes fit into the museum architecture.

The project of the apartments in Moscow for a young couple. The main objective of the project was to unite three separate apartments into a single functional space. The loft style was taken as a basis. The abundance of concrete, decorative coatings, natural materials and metals in finishing create a cozy but strict atmosphere. The color range is monochrome – white, grey, black, plus the natural color of wood and bright accents of furniture and textiles.
We got a building of the pre-revolutionary period (2 level building built in 1914) not far from the center of Moscow. All interior and stylistic decisions were built in the context of the architecture of this house. This apartment is located on the second floor already had a place for a fireplace and the height of the ceilings was 420 cm before it collapsed. When the brick ceiling that lay on the rotten boards fell down, under it we found centuries-old wooden beams, and metal I-beams (behind which we later hid the backlight), and mezzanine window, all these elements dictated a lot in the project. Of course, it brought a lot of trouble, but it was worth it, it allowed to create a mezzanine pantry above the bedroom, and a mezzanine above the bathroom, access to it through the library staircase. At the end above the library, I managed to make a light window into the bathroom, I think this is the good element in the project. Thanks to the roof, the mezzanine window turned out to be a space flooded with light. Such design decisions and the amount of light (which is unusual for Moscow) reminded me of a Mediterranean house, hence the stylistics.
A light filled space overlooking the centre of Moscow was designed to accommodate a small finance company. The project called for closed compact offices as opposed to an open plan layout.
The entire glazed perimeter was given over to individual rooms, while the central area became an informal meeting space.
Light glass partitions provide visual continuity and compositional rhythm, allowing the space to be perceived as a whole. The central lounge area is delineated with sculptural accents, such as a chrome-plated screen, marble and walnut planters with succulents.
